"LET ANGER NEVER STAND BETWEEN US!
• This beautiful mantra is part of the Vedas, (Taittiriya Upanishad 2.2.2), written 2600 years ago, to remind the disciple that he has come to his teacher to learn and practice and not to criticize, argue or oppose him.
• As it was 2600 years ago, it is still one of the main ego-driven obstacles to the development of disciples today.
• For rapid progress in yoga, according to the scriptures, a humble, first-class disciple (uttama adhikari) is required, who studies and serves his teacher for 12 years.
• Today, when people are constantly changing their teachers, criticizing instead of practicing regularly, their chance for real development is lost. The fast-paced, deep, comprehensive yoga teacher training courses without knowledge also reinforce this tendency.
• Therefore, they are of special value to those truly practicing, humble yogis who have been practicing and deepening the knowledge that comes from the same Master for 10-15-20 or even 30 years.
• The translation of the mantra is: “AUM, may he protect both of us, teacher and disciple, may he grant both of us the salvation of liberation, may he grant both of us to understand the true meaning of the scriptures, may he grant that anger never comes between us. AUM, peace, peace, peace.”
• Krishna Yajurveda Taittiriya Upanishad (2.2.2), And all this in Sanskrit writing.
