BETA Portugal is the PT branch of BETA Europe, Bringing Europeans Together Association, AISBL, a federal youth NGO which aims to promote European integration, EU affairs, democratic processes by organising EU Politics simulations (Model European Union). A collective will of many Portuguese students who have participated in Model European Union conferences organised by BETA and wished to bring thi

s project home, BETA Portugal has standing team of about 40 motivated young volunteers, dedicated to promote several activities across the country in order to bring the EU close to its citizens. Thus, we organise real-life professional simulations of EU Politics, where young participants from all walks of life can experience what is like to be in someone else's shoes, and learn about the EU legislative and decision-making process from within. Um grande obrigado a um dos nossos grandes parceiros que tornaram possível a realização do MEU Lisbon 🫶

EPAL apoiou a 3ª edição do projeto Model European Union Lisbon para jovens

Todos os anos a BETA Portugal, que organiza simulações políticas com vista a familiarizar os jovens com o processo legislativo da UE, traz a Portugal cerca de 100 jovens cidadãos europeus para debater os mecanismos e temas da atualidade, de modo que se tornem cidadãos conscientes e com voz ativa no presente e futuro do seu país, para um amanhã melhor.
A simulação consiste na personificação, por parte dos participantes, de Deputados ao Parlamento Europeu, Ministros do Conselho da UE, Lobistas e Jornalistas, com diferentes posições, prioridades e interesses, criando a oportunidade de discutir, negociar, formar alianças e bloqueios, cruzando países e culturas da forma mais realista possível.
À semelhança de anos anteriores, a EPAL voltou a colaborar nesta iniciativa com materiais sobre a qualidade da água de Lisboa, proporcionando ainda a visita aos núcleos do Museu da Água para uma abordagem mais completa à história do abastecimento de água à capital.
