the brutal flash floods along the border of Nepal and Tibet have taken hundreds of lives, many more are missing, towns and homes were destroyed, and families were torn apart. 🇳🇵

to support the victims of this natural disaster, we are organising a Nepalese benefit dinner on the 31st of August at Casa da Horta.

we cook Nepalese food as a way of honouring and celebrating Nepalese culture, and we offer the income from the night to support the recovery efforts.

Ceramic workshop 2nd edition - Espresso cup for coffee lovers

Join us on 30th of August, from 16:00 to 18.00 for an afternoon full of creativity, ceramics and new experiences with art.

What’s included?
✨ All materials to make your own cup
🔥 After the workshop we will fire your project, and you’ll be able to pick it up at Casa da Horta.

The workshop will be conducted by Daria Galuś, master of sculpture, graduate of Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź.

Whether you’re an artist or simply curious to try something new, you are welcome! The class will be conducted in English. The workshop will take 2 hours so you can do 2 cups depending how complicated your design will be. If you never did creamic don’t worry we will show you all the basics.

In a world flooded with AI-generated content, endless scrolling, and a world that feels like it’s on fire, it feels more important than ever to gather, make things with our hands, and put our thoughts somewhere.

Zines are a form of resistance.
But what exactly is a zine? A zine is a small, self-published booklet made by anyone, about anything. They’re usually handmade, cheap, DIY, and completely free from publishers, algorithms, or anyone telling you what you can or can’t say.

Zines have a long history of being used to share ideas, challenge the status quo, document experiences, build communities, and make voices heard outside of traditional media.

On Saturday, August 29th, we’ll get together at Casa da Horta to make our own activist zines!

During this 2-hour workshop, we’ll explore the basics of zine-making and create our own little paper worlds. We’ll provide materials, but feel free to bring anything that inspires you: old magazines, newspapers, drawings, photos, texts, poems, stickers, or whatever you’ve been wanting to turn into something.

And your zine can be about anything.
A big political question, a small everyday frustration, something you believe in, something you disagree with, something you want to change, or simply something you feel needs to be said.
From feminism and climate justice to housing, work, community, identity, or anything that occupies your mind.

There are no rules about what your zine should look like or what you should say. This is a space to think, create, rant, question, laugh, experiment, and express yourself in an artistic and unapologetic way.

So come have a drink, make some stuff, and gather thoughts together. Everyone is welcome: no experience needed :)
