Just received a big project on the subject 'stop plastic waste': recycling, circular economy, and everything related to ending plastic waste.
People are paying me to translate something I love!

7 years ago I started translating professionally as an intern at a small translation agency in Lisbon. This month I am celebrating my 7-year career in this constantly evolving industry. I invested in myself, did several trainings over the years in different areas and, above all, I never gave up. And I must say that so far the business is in full swing! Last month I broke my billing record, and this month I have already broken it again (and the month is not over yet). 💪
Luck? No. Commitment, dedication, effort, and resilience. Desire to evolve more and more. Today I congratulate myself and I feel more fulfilled than ever.
I wish the same success and achievements to all my colleagues and professionals who have not yet got there, but will certainly, sooner or later, if they invest and apply these same principles! Success for all of you!! 🙌

Let's keep rocking!!! 🤘

Yesterday I received MY email template I use to contact new clients by the [email protected], mentioning a company I have never contacted (Grampian).

In the subject line, it was mentioned: 'Check the attachment, I think we might have a few inconsistencies that need fixing before we send it further.' They put a link to an attachment. I tried to download the file but my computer reported it as dangerous. I usually send this email template with my CV.

My guess was that they sent the email to me by mistake.
I replied asking if they were impersonating me and telling that it is a crime and I would report to the authorities. I then received an email from G Suite Alerts classifying that message as phishing.

I have found a Danielle Poole (https://lnkd.in/dTR5rv5) that works for the NGO Srebrenica (https://lnkd.in/dBCRqXt) on LinkedIn but the profile looks fake, there's no photo and there's minimal information.

Be aware of this situation, this person is trying to impersonate me, using my professional data and signature.
I have reported this situation to Translator Scammers and ProZ, and I will spread this as much as possible.

" technology is undoubtedly a useful tool for certain content such as manuals. But if you want to create a relationship with the reader, you need a to make it sound natural and capture the sentiment, which often involves restructuring a sentence completely."

Developers say you can now converse effortlessly using translation tech, but others are not so sure.

When you go to a doctor's appointment, do you bargain over the price? Of course not.
Then why should people do it for your services?
Good clients come to you and ask you for your price.
Bad clients will always ask to lower your price and offer unsustainable rates.
The choice is yours. Choose wisely.
