The festival provides a platform for discussing and disseminating architectural production through films, exhibitions and debates. Organised by INSTITUTO.

Arquiteturas is the first international film festival in Portugal to screen documentary, experimental and fiction films about architecture.The festival uses the power of moving images as a tool for broadening public understanding and appreciation of architecture.

→ Urbanising Earth Award — “Desert Passages”, Kevin Brennan & Laurence Durkin (Ireland)

→ Spectacle of the Ordinary Award — “Learning from Learning from Las Vegas”, Gillian Waldo & Sam Taffel (US)

→ Unsettling Boundaries Award — “A Weak & Panicked Animal”, Jake Starr (Australia)

→ Building Agency Award — “Ellas en la Ciudad”, Reyes Gallegos Rodríguez (Spain)

Congratulations to all the awarded directors! And thank you to the jury — Rute Nieto Ferreira, João Queirós, Gustavo Imigrante, Luís Tavares Pereira, and Klearjos Eduardo Papanicolaou. The trophies were designed by Sechaba Maape, produced in partnership with ArtWorks.
