European Cinema for Active Ageing CINAGE offers exciting later life learning opportunities, engaging elderly people with European cine

CINAGE aims at producing, testing and validating a course for older people which is aiming at bettering older peoples' competences (knowledge, skills, attitudes) concerned with active ageing. Thus CINAGE aims:

• to develop a pedagogical framework for an educational programme using European cinema as a starting point for (older people's) reflection about active ageing,
• to devise a programme

for adult educators to promote competencies for active ageing,
• to review active ageing and related andragogic literature,
• to identify European cinema addressing ageing,
• to identify stereotypes concerning ageing as presented by screen narratives,
• to enable older people's self-reflection on their ageing experiences,
• to collect audiovisually older people's narratives on ageing stereotypesas they appear in each country in everyday situations.
• to recommend strategies for active ageing, l
• to stimulate the intergenerational dialogue within situations offered by the learning process,
• ensure wide dissemination and exploitation activities for a sustainable integration of the CINAGE learning package within national organizations such as third age universities in each partner country. CINAGE’s proposal is to research, develop reflect and analyze using focus groups and Pilot Actions a cinema based course for senior learners, aiming to develop core competences to a positive and productive ageing practice.
