We are a small but dedicated association aimed at helping stray dogs in the Alentejo.

Since my arrival in Portugal in 2004 I have been helping stray and abandoned dogs. Up until now everything has been funded myself, things have been sold and all savings have been used! To continue doing what we are doing, and to continue helping as many stray dogs as possible we need all the help we can get. Well!! Another exhausting but very successful night!! 15 dogs and 2 cats on their way to their new homes in Germany and Switzerland!! A big thank you to Sonia for lending me her van and of course to Celso for helping me load and unload everyone in the middle of the night, and for driving the other van for me!!

Unfortunately I don’t really post much on social media but that doesn’t mean that it’s not endless, the rescuing of dogs, and also cats these days. There is so much more that is involved in my day to day life with regards to all the animals, it’s not just feeding and looking after them. Here are just two examples of what is going on..

It was a very full van last night as I drove another 12 of my rescue animals to the transport to begin their journeys to their new homes in Germany and Switzerland. Always bittersweet, but once the new owners contact me and I can see everyone in their new homes, it makes it all worthwhile ❤️
