🎉💙 6 Years of Sport Evolution Alliance!

Six years ago, Sport Evolution Alliance was created with a simple belief: sport can be much more than competition. It can educate, include, empower, connect and transform communities.

Today, that belief is stronger than ever.

Over these six years, SEA has grown through projects, partnerships and, above all, people. We have worked alongside organisations across Europe and beyond, creating opportunities for young people, athletes, coaches, educators, researchers and sport professionals. 🌍🤝

From gender equality and inclusion to safeguarding, education, employability, sustainability, digital transformation and youth empowerment, every project has helped us learn, evolve and expand the impact we want to create through sport.

But our greatest achievement is not a number.

It is the people who travelled for the first time because of one of our projects. The young people who discovered new cultures. The clubs that became safer and more inclusive. The professionals who gained new skills. The partnerships that became friendships. And the ideas that became opportunities. 💙

None of this would have been possible without our members, team, partners, participants, volunteers and all those who have trusted and supported SEA along the way.

🙏 Thank you for being part of these first six years.

Six years of learning.
Six years of cooperation.
Six years of impact.

🚀 And we are only getting started.

🎙️💜 Just two days before the POWER Final Conference in Athens, Sport Evolution Alliance launches the third and final Portuguese episode of the “Share Your Story” podcast series!

On 8 October, the POWER – Portrayal of Women Athletes in Sports Media project will bring partners, experts, athletes and sport professionals together in Athens 🇬🇷 for its Final Conference.

As we approach this important final moment, we have one more Portuguese story to share.

In this new episode, we welcome Diana Gomes, Secretary General of the Portuguese Olympic Committee, for a conversation about athletes’ voices, leadership and the future of the Portuguese Olympic Movement.

🏅 From the starting block to the decision-making table, Diana shares her journey and reflects on the importance of ensuring that athletes are not only represented in sport, but also heard and involved in shaping its future.

🎧 This episode concludes the Portuguese contribution to the POWER podcast series — but there are many more stories to discover!

🇮🇹💧 Rising Waters | Youth taking action for climate and water justice in Venice!

From 22 to 30 September, 30 young people from five countries came together in Venice, Italy, for the Rising Waters: Youth for Climate and Water Justice Erasmus+ Youth Exchange — including six participants representing Portugal through Sport Evolution Alliance. 🇵🇹

With different backgrounds, cultures and experiences, participants shared one common goal: to better understand the connections between climate change, water justice and the choices we make in our everyday lives. 🌍✨

And what better place to explore these challenges than Venice?

Using the city as a true “living classroom”, participants explored sea-level rise, flooding, pollution, water conservation and sustainable mobility through workshops, eco-challenges, zero-waste activities, the 4R approach — Reject, Reuse, Recycle and Reduce — and a water justice simulation. 🌱💧

One of the key outcomes was the creation of a Youth Charter on Water and Climate Resilience, transforming participants’ experiences, concerns and ideas into shared proposals for a more sustainable future.

As a partner in Rising Waters, coordinated by KIZIL ELMA APS, Sport Evolution Alliance was delighted to give six young people from Portugal the opportunity to learn, exchange perspectives and become more active contributors to environmental change. 🤝

And the experience does not end in Venice. Participants will now take their learning back to their communities through awareness activities, workshops, digital content and local initiatives. 🌊

🎀💗 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

This October, Sport Evolution Alliance joins the global movement to raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of prevention, early detection and access to appropriate care.

Behind every pink ribbon are people, families and communities whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.

At Sport Evolution Alliance, we believe that sport can also play a role in promoting healthier lives and stronger communities. Sports clubs, teams and organisations are more than places to train and compete — they can be spaces for education, awareness, solidarity and support. 🤝

Throughout our work, we advocate for environments where health and wellbeing are treated as fundamental parts of the sporting experience and where people feel empowered to take care of themselves and each other.

🎀 This October, let’s use the power and reach of sport to spread awareness, encourage conversations about health and stand alongside everyone affected by breast cancer.

Because taking care of people should always come first. 💗

🎙️💜 POWER Workshop | From knowledge to action!

Sport Evolution Alliance brought together 33 participants from more than 7 countries and 4 continents for a hybrid workshop dedicated to one important question: how can we contribute to a fairer representation of women athletes in sports media? 🌍

The event combined two complementary moments.

💻 The first part took place online, introducing the POWER – Portrayal of Women Athletes in Sports Media project, its research findings and some of the challenges and stereotypes that continue to influence how women athletes are portrayed.

🎓 The second, more practical part took place at Universidade Europeia – Oriente Green Campus, where participants had the opportunity to put these ideas into practice through exercises, discussion and reflection.

The group was mainly composed of Master’s students in Sports Communication and Sports Management, alongside other participants interested in gender equality, sport and media — creating a diverse international space for exchanging perspectives and challenging existing narratives.

For Sport Evolution Alliance, this is exactly how we want to translate European projects into impact: taking research beyond reports, bringing it into educational environments and providing future sport and communication professionals with practical knowledge they can apply in their careers. 💡

🙏 A big thank you to all 33 participants for their engagement and to Universidade Europeia for supporting us in creating this learning experience.

The POWER project may be approaching its final stage, but the conversation — and the need for change — continues. 💜

🚲🎶 BIKE & MUSIC is coming to Portugal! 🇵🇹

After Greece 🇬🇷 and Romania 🇷🇴, the BIKE & MUSIC journey continues — and this time Sport Evolution Alliance is getting ready to welcome our European partners to Portugal!

📍 Torres Vedras & Oeste Region
📅 14–17 October 2026

The 3rd BIKE & MUSIC Tour will bring together cycling, music, culture and sustainability, offering participants the opportunity to discover the region and connect with local communities in a different way. 🌿🚲

Throughout the programme, participants will explore Portuguese traditions through music, dance and local culture, discover the region by bicycle, experience its gastronomy and share their own cultural traditions with the group. 🎶💃

At Sport Evolution Alliance, we believe this is exactly what BIKE & MUSIC is about: using sustainable mobility and culture to bring people together, celebrate European diversity and create meaningful connections between communities. 🇪🇺🤝

And we want the local community to be part of it!

🇪🇸🌿 I’mPossible | Adventure, learning and connection in Asturias!

From 5 to 15 September, 42 young people from six countries came together in Asturias, Spain, for the I’mPossible Erasmus+ Youth Exchange — including seven participants representing Portugal through Sport Evolution Alliance. 🇵🇹

Different backgrounds, cultures and experiences, united by one opportunity to challenge themselves, connect with nature and learn from one another. 🌍✨

Throughout the exchange, participants experienced mountain hiking, camping 🏕️, kayaking, canyoning and climbing, stepping outside their comfort zones while strengthening teamwork, resilience and self-confidence.

Workshops, debates and reflection sessions complemented the outdoor activities, exploring healthy lifestyles, environmental responsibility 🌱 and the everyday choices that can contribute to a more sustainable future.

As a partner in I’mPossible, coordinated by Proactive Future, Sport Evolution Alliance was delighted to give seven young people from Portugal the opportunity to take part in this international experience, combining outdoor learning, personal development and intercultural exchange. 🤝

And the journey doesn’t end in Asturias. Participants will now take their experiences and learning back to their communities through national follow-up activities.
