Throwback To our Madeira Erasmus+ Course 🇵🇹🇪🇺 – What a week that was! 🌴

From hands-on indoor workshops to outdoor explorations across the stunning island of Madeira, our educators turned every corner of Machico into a classroom. AI-powered activities, creative non-formal tasks, and dynamic presentations kept the energy high from start to finish.

On February 20th, we wrapped it all up with a celebration to remember, as talented educators from Romania, Slovenia, Germany, Spain, and Portugal walked away with their well-earned certificates after a week of deep collaboration and creative building. 🎓

Looking back, our Erasmus+ course reminds us why we do what we do at Colony of Creators — bringing passionate educators together, building new skills, and forming connections that go far beyond borders. 🤝

Until the next one! 🚀

And just like that, an unforgettable week comes to an end. Thank you to Școala Gimnazială "Ionel Teodoreanu" in Iași for the warm welcome, the trust, and the openness. 🫶🏼
Thank you to every student from every classroom who showed up with curiosity and heart. Thank you to the teachers who embraced new approaches and reminded us why this work matters. From Madeira, Portugal to Iași, Romania — this is what connection looks like.
This is what the Erasmus+ programme makes possible.

Until next time, keep communicating, keep collaborating, keep including, and never stop learning by doing.

With gratitude, Andreia Teixeira & the Colony of Creators team 💛

Why does an Erasmus+ expert visit matter? Because it makes the programme accessible to those who might never otherwise experience it. The reality is that mobilities have limitations — not everyone in a school can travel, whether due to personal reasons, logistical constraints, or the financial boundaries of the programme itself. An expert visit bridges that gap.
When an invited expert walks through the doors of a school, they bring with them the essence of what Erasmus+ stands for: intercultural exchange, innovative methodologies, collaboration, and the belief that education can always evolve.

This week in Iași, students and teachers alike got to experience non-formal education, experiential learning, and the richness that comes from an international perspective — without ever leaving their school. That is the power of this format, and we at Colony of Creators are proud to be part of making it happen.🤩

Inclusive education course in action! 🇵🇹✨

From April 10–15, Porto became a hub for innovation as psychologist and trainer Lara Mendes led our course: “Every Child Can Thrive: SEN Inclusive Education & Learning Diversity.” 📚🌱

We were thrilled to host passionate teachers and NGO representatives from Slovenia, Portugal, and Pakistan 🇵🇹🇸🇮🇵🇰. Together, we dived deep into:

✅ Proactive behavior management strategies
✅ Designing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
✅ Building bridges through empathy and collaboration
✅ Transforming classroom challenges into opportunities for growth

Thanks to the ErasmusPlus program, these educators are heading home with fresh tools to ensure every child—regardless of their needs—has the chance to succeed. 🌍💡

The results are in, and our hearts are full! 🧡📖 (Swipe to see what our participants had to say ➡️)

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing educators leave our courses feeling empowered and inspired. After a week of intensive learning on SEN and Inclusive Education in Porto, our participants from Slovenia, Portugal, and Pakistan shared their experiences. 🇵🇹🇸🇮🇵🇰

From mastering new behavior management tools to the "21-Day Inclusion Challenge," the feedback highlights the power of international exchange and practical, hands-on learning. 🛠️✨

A huge thank you to our amazing group for their vulnerability, hard work, and commitment to making their schools a place where every child can thrive.

A special day was dedicated entirely to the teaching staff, and what a powerful session it was. We dove into inclusive classroom strategies, emotional intelligence, reflective practice, and practical tools that can be adapted to everyday teaching.
This is exactly why Erasmus+ expert visits matter so much: not every member of a school's staff can participate in an international mobility.
Personal circumstances, scheduling, and the financial limitations of the programme itself mean that not everyone gets the chance to travel abroad for training.

An expert visit changes that. It brings the Erasmus+ experience to them — right into their school, their staff room, their reality. It opens the door to understanding what the Erasmus programme is, what it offers, and what possibilities and opportunities it creates for professional and personal growth.

One of the most rewarding parts of this Erasmus+ expert visit was spending dedicated time with each classroom — from the 5th graders all the way to the 8th graders. Every group brought its own energy, its own dynamics, and its own beautiful way of connecting.

Together, we worked on understanding how we communicate with each other, how we collaborate as a team, and how we can truly accept and celebrate the differences that make each of us unique.

Through hands-on activities, challenges, and reflection, the students didn't just hear about inclusion — they lived it. That is the heart of experiential learning: you don't just learn about it, you feel it, you do it, and it stays with you.

A lot of people told me that I would never make it. Especially in what I do!
They always told me to give up, that I would never succeed, and that I should be behaving my age.🤷🏻‍♀️

So I, I stick the finger up to all those comments, and behave my age anyway.🫶🏼

Here’s to 35!

May I always stay foolish, playful, and enjoy life as an idiot possibliy can.

The reality is that if you put your mind to it, stick to it, and build around it, you can and will make it.
You have to be willing to fail, and keep failing, until you stop failing.🍦

It’s scary, and it’s always going to be that leap of faith, the next step, the next step, the next step. Yet eventually, just as the bamboo effect, the results will show.

And you will see that all the hard work, all the failures were worth it. That’s how I celebrate today.
Cheers to the future failures🥂

PS. Maybe this account is only for a yearly post. Still, doing it anyway. Because honestly, who cares?!

What an incredible week in Iași, Romania! 🇷🇴 Between March 16th and 20th, 2026, our head trainer and expert, Andreia Teixeira, had the privilege of being an Erasmus+ Invited Expert at Școala Gimnazială "Ionel Teodoreanu", working with students from 5th to 8th grade and their dedicated teachers.

Through non-formal education and experiential learning — learning by doing — we explored communication, collaboration, inclusion, acceptance of differences, and team-building, all while having a lot of fun together.

This is what the Erasmus+ programme is all about: bringing new perspectives, fresh methodologies, and meaningful learning experiences directly into schools and classrooms.
