OBJECTIVES:
INCLUDE aims to break the ‘cycle of disillusionment’ experienced by people with cognitive disabilities when work placements do not lead to permanent employment. The project develops a business-led vocational training model that links sheltered training environments to the open labour market, involving SMEs as active partners in the design of inclusive and sustainable employment pathways.
ACTIVITIES:
The project will analyse the needs of SMEs and launch a business intelligence process involving companies, vocational training providers and researchers. The partners will jointly design inclusive job profiles and test a three-phase pathway linking training, pre-employment work experience in ‘protected’ environments (museums, libraries, cultural institutions, etc.) and integration into the workplace, with the support of a European network of ‘Ready for Inclusion’ companies.
RESULTS:
The INCLUDE project will present a validated European model for inclusive vocational training in a business context, including practical protocols for companies, supported by a set of practical tools and materials designed to facilitate the model’s implementation, tailored micro-credentials and a ‘technical passport’ of transferable skills. The project will also establish a network of ‘Ready for Inclusion’ ambassador SMEs and produce a white paper on policies to support inclusive employment.
