Among what went through the was the effective implementation of Marine Protected Areas on the road to , the crucial role of sharks in marine ecosystems and the threats they face, and the urgency for the EU to set a clear roadmap towards a healthier ocean through the upcoming , among others.
We also had the opportunity to exchange with MEP Paulo do Nascimento Cabral and the team of MEP André Franqueira Rodrigues , defending the need to fully implement the rather than reopen it, and calling for the EU to take a strong position against projects promoted by other nations.
Finally, it was a pleasure to attend and participate in RethinkFisheries, hosted by Seas At Risk and Low Impact Fishers of Europe . We discussed ecosystem-based fisheries management, the need to move away from destructive fishing practices, and learned about inspiring projects working on low-impact fisheries and aquaculture products.
A busy week of conversations, collaboration and advocacy for a healthier ocean and more sustainable fisheries. 🌊
