CinTurs is a multidisciplinary research unit that combines
knowledge and approaches from Human, Social and
Environmental Sciences to produce and transfer knowledge
in Tourism and Hospitality. The mission of CinTurs is the development and transfer of knowledge towards the sustainable development of tourism destinations and their stakeholders’ well-being, strengthening the position of UALG as an international reference in the field.

🎓 CinTurs at The INC 2026

THE INC 2026 (Faro, Portugal) provided an excellent opportunity for the CinTurs' community to share research, exchange ideas and engage with scholars from around the world.

CinTurs is proud to acknowledge the participation of 15 PhD Students and 14 Members, whose contributions helped strengthen the centre's presence throughout the conference.

Today, as part of THE INC 2026, we welcome the Industry Symposium, a roundtable dedicated to one of the most pressing challenges facing tourism: how to achieve eco-efficient growth while strengthening resilience in increasingly vulnerable destinations.

Under the theme “Need for New Paradigms in Tourism Management: Eco-efficient Growth and Resilience in Tourism”, the discussion will address key topics including water management in regions affected by scarcity, strategies to reduce ecological footprints, the role of data in decision-making, and governance models that support sustainable tourism development.

📢 Open to the public, the Industry Symposium offers a valuable opportunity for professionals, students, policymakers and community stakeholders to engage directly with experts from academia, industry, public administration and environmental management.
