we are one
We are one with the Earth, our mother; what we do to nature, we do to ourselves. We are made of nature, of the five elements. When we disconnect from nature, we disconnect from our totality. When this occurs in human nature, we enter a void of consciousness of separation. When we care for the Earth as guardians, we nurture all life as one. Living in this self-awareness is fundamental to the survival of our planet. The next evolutionary step for humankind is to realize our interconnectedness, our own source, so that we can heal from the abundance of nature, from the selfless service of giving life, and then recycle in a biofeedback cycle of embodied Unity. This series of paintings depicts the inner and outer landscape of all life, felt as one beyond borders or divisions, as part of our own Being.
This painting, "We Are One," portrays our inner landscape, the pilgrimage and the path to unity, both symbolic and figurative. Earth, sand from Praia Grande, crystals and stones collected on my pilgrimage to the sacred mountain of Sintra, which became my home after a lifetime of searching for my true home on Earth.
