Ahmet Ali Agirman, estudante da Universidade de Istambul, apaixonou-se pela língua portuguesa e decidiu aprendê-la sozinho.
Hoje, não se limita a falar português: pensa e sonha em português.
A sua história lembra-nos da importância de aprendermos línguas. Porque uma língua é muito mais do que palavras, regras ou gramática. É um dos principais elementos de uma cultura, uma forma de conhecer um povo, compreender outras maneiras de pensar e criar pontes entre pessoas e países.
Aprender uma língua é também aprender a olhar o mundo através dos olhos do outro. E talvez seja essa uma das experiências mais bonitas que a mobilidade internacional nos pode proporcionar.

Ahmet Ali Agirman, a student from Istanbul University, fell in love with the Portuguese language and decided to learn it on his own.
Today, he doesn’t just speak Portuguese: he thinks and even dreams in Portuguese.
His story reminds us of the importance of learning languages. Because a language is much more than words, rules or grammar. It is one of the most important elements of a culture — a way of getting to know a people, understanding different ways of thinking, and building bridges between people and countries.
Learning a language also means learning to see the world through someone else’s eyes.
And perhaps that is one of the most beautiful experiences that international mobility can offer us.
