Lisbon MBA Toastmasters Club We learn about public speaking and leadership through practice. Over and over again. We practice, practice, practice. We gather feedback from each other.

We develop leadership, public speaking and English skills the best way we know there is: by doing. And then we practice, practice, practice. Again and again. In a continuous cycle that only ends in perfection. We develop leaders from scratch. We welcome people who are afraid of public speaking. People who are uncomfortable taking the lead. Or people who would like to improve their leadership and public speaking skills. And we walk them through their journey of becoming inspiring leaders and outstanding public speakers. Through each and every step. Every step forward. Every step backward before stepping forward. All the missteps. Yes, the missteps. Everybody has them. Here you have a safe space for each and every one of those steps that you may take. And soon enough you arrive at the land of competence. In fact, much sooner than you ever imagined. This is why Toastmasters is such a great place to become a public speaker and a leader. Come and see it for yourself. We came, we saw, we conquered the “ums” and “ahs”!🎤

Another incredible session is in the books, and let’s just say the energy in the room was higher than the heart rate of a first-time Icebreaker speaker. 😅

Whether it was navigating tricky impromptu topics or delivering masterful, insightful evaluations, our members brought their absolute A-game to the stage.

There is truly nothing quite like the thrill of the red timing card to get the adrenaline pumping and the words flowing faster!⏱️

We witnessed speeches that inspired us, spontaneous moments that had the room roaring with laughter, and constructive feedback that reminded us why we keep showing up.

It turns out that speaking in front of an audience isn’t so terrifying when you’re surrounded by such an incredibly supportive community. 👏

🕯️ May 13. A date that knows how to speak.
May 13. A date. Nothing more. Nothing less.

But what a date!

1917 — Portugal. Three children, the oldest was ten. No Pathways manual. No evaluator. They froze. They got their stories tangled. They were interrogated for two years. And still — they kept showing up.
They repeated the message. They got better.
By the end, they spoke in front of seventy thousand people.

1940 — May 13.
London. Three days into being Prime Minister, Winston Churchill stood up and said twelve words:
“I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat.”
Eighty-six years later, we still quote them. That’s what one speech can do.

1950 — Saginaw. A baby is born blind. He grows up to be Stevie Wonder.
25 Grammy Awards. may 13th he turned 76.

2017 — May 13. Kyiv. A quiet Portuguese man named Salvador Sobral walks on stage. No fireworks. He sings a song his sister wrote, softly. He wins Eurovision by the largest margin in history — Portugal’s first win in 53 years. And then he says the line every Toastmaster should remember:
“You don’t have to sing loudly to be heard.”

2026 — May 13. Carcavelos.
One prepared speech. One Learning Moment. Five Table Topics speakers.

What an electrifying last session at Lisbon MBA Toastmasters! ⚡🎙️

Our theme was “Freedom to Speak,” and our brave speakers completely cleared away any FULIGINOUS doubts to deliver absolute clarity and impact on stage.

Tonight’s highlights were truly unforgettable:

🎩 Samantha delivered a phenomenal Icebreaker—and now we finally know exactly how many hats each of us is going to wear!

❤️ Vladimir spoke straight from the heart, taking the whole room on his incredible, emotional love journey.

🏃‍♂️ We also witnessed a speech from a future World Champion, delivering a powerful message about the angels of marathon and the unwavering strength of family.
