We'll be in Porto for ICE 2026!!

TFC and UNINOVA (Portugal) will host a workshop on the work of the FITTER-EU project at the 32nd IEEE International Conference on Engineering, Technology and Innovation (ICE'2026 CONFERENCE) in Porto, Portugal.

The workshop will focus on the area of Local Transitions to International Perspectives: Co-designing Policy Tools for the Green and Digital Future.

The event brings municipalities, policymakers, researchers and governance actors around the same table to explore how local realities can shape broader perspectives on the green and digital transitions.

Together, participants will look at how data-driven tools can support evidence-based, inclusive policy design across areas like sustainable housing, energy transition, digital transformation, citizen engagement and smart cities. The aim is a genuine exchange: not a showcase, but a conversation about what works on the ground, what's missing, and what it would take for these approaches to be trusted and adopted.

It is with pleasure that UNINOVA is hosting the Seasonal School on Designing CHIPs for Embedded AI, scheduled for July 12 (an Opening day) followed by a full-week intensive "hands-on" advanced course (from July 15 to July 19, ONLY for a limited number of registered attendees (first-registered, first-served) at: https://lnkd.in/djDxn9x9).

The Seasonal School is co-organized and technically sponsored by UNINOVA (CTS & CEMOP), EUROPRACTICE, IEEE-Portugal Section, FCT NOVA, NOVALINCS, and 4 Local IEEE Chapters (namely, Solid-State Circuits, Circuits-and-Systems, Broadcast Technology and Consumer Technology).

A Propriedade Intelectual (PI) nas Ciências e Engenharias, será o tema abordado por Rui Gomes (Mandatário europeu de patentes, representante junto do Tribunal Unificado de Patentes e responsável pelo departamento de patentes — J. Pereira da Cruz, S.A.) na ação de sensibilização organizada em parceria com o UNINOVA. 📑 Navigating Intellectual Property for Researchers, Engineers and Scientists – hands-on session focusing on patents
Intellectual Property (IP) in the Sciences and Engineering will be the topic addressed by Rui Gomes (European Patent Attorney, representative at the Unified Patent Court and head of the patent department — J. Pereira da Cruz, S.A.) in this awareness-raising session organized in partnership with UNINOVA. This session will focus on technological innovation and the protection of its intellectual property through patents. It will be based on case studies, allowing for continuous interaction with the participants.
This event, which will take place on 5 June at the UNINOVA Auditorium, Building 1, at 14:00, and will address the following topics will be discussed:
