Quinta das Relvas - Artes e Sustentabilidade is a farm and an NGO association located in Branca, Albergaria-a-Velha, Portugal. Here, our main goal is to learn, teach and share experiences related to Art and Nature.

no dia 11 de junho, a partir das 15h, esperamos por vocês na Quinta das Relvas, a propósito do encerramento da 3ª GALA FEST, desta vez em Portugal e com o nosso acolhimento.

Este será um óptimo momento para networking junto das mais de vinte entidades internacionais que estarão representadas (por mais de trinta profissionais da área da cultura), ao qual se seguirá uma caminhada até à inauguração da próxima exposição no âmbito do projeto CURARTE no Centro de Saúde da Branca, com o título "Bem-estar Relacional" e curadoria de Yasmine Ostendorf-Rodriguez, diretora co-fundadora da GALA.

Dear friends,

On June 11, from 3:00 PM onwards, we look forward to welcoming you at Quinta das Relvas for the closing event of the 3rd GALA FEST, this time taking place in Portugal and hosted by us.

This will be a great opportunity for networking with the more than twenty international organisations represented (by over thirty cultural professionals), followed by a walk to the opening of the next exhibition within the CURARTE project at the Branca Health Centre, titled “Relational Well-being”, curated by Yasmine Ostendorf-Rodriguez, co-founding director of GALA.

BUILD UP Bio-constrution: call for participants

WHAT?
The main objective of this training course is to explore bioconstruction practices and sustainable building methods as tools for ecological transition and resilient community development. Participants will learn about natural materials, regenerative design principles, and low-impact construction techniques that respond to current environmental and social challenges in Europe. The project also aims to reconnect young people with rural areas by promoting practical skills, collective learning, and opportunities for sustainable livelihoods linked to ecological construction, community projects, and local entrepreneurship, contributing to rural revitalization and more sustainable ways of living.

Para além das visitas dos artistas convidados, a 7ª edição da GRÃO - Residência Artística e de Investigação contou com várias atividades paralelas à investigação e criação no contexto da Quinta! Durante as três semanas que constituem o programa, as artistas residentes visitaram o Centro de Arte Oliva ( ) na inauguração da exposição "Sem Terra à Vista"; a inauguração da instalação "Quem inventou a partida não sabia o que era amar", dos ex-residentes Mariana Sevila ( ), Ruben Carneiro ( ) e Paulo Madureira ( ); visitaram a exposição atual do projeto "Curarte", no Centro de Saúde da Branca; visitaram a Pateira de Frossos e o seu Centro Interpretativo ( Município de Albergaria-a-Velha ); receberam o Diogo Ramalho ( ), diretor e fundador da Galeria Plato ( ) onde uma das exposições finais ocorrerá; marcharam pelo 25 de abril (sempre!) e conheceram de perto da vila da Branca, pelos seus caminhos, cafés, eucaliptais, sítio arqueológico e casas da vizinhança! 🥁

In addition to the visits from the invited artists, the 7th edition of the GRÃO – Artistic and Research Residency also included several parallel activities alongside the research and creative work taking place at Quinta das Relvas. During the three weeks of the program, the resident artists visited Centro de Arte Oliva for the opening of the exhibition "Sem Terra à Vista"; attended the opening of the installation "Quem inventou a partida não sabia o que era amar" by former residents Mariana Sevila, Ruben Carneiro, and Paulo Madureira; visited our current exhibition at the local health center under the project "Curarte"; visited the Pateira de Frossos and its Interpretive Center; welcomed Diogo Ramalho, director and founder of Galeria Plato, where one of the final exhibitions will take place; took part in the April 25th celebrations (always!), and explored the village of Branca up close—its paths, cafés, eucalyptus groves, archaeological site, and neighborhood homes. 🥁

Durante o mês de abril teve lugar a 7ª edição da GRÃO - Residência Artística e de Investigação, desta vez com as artistas Aúna Nunes (.pony ) , Cheila Garcia ( ) , Elisabete Sousa ( ) , Felipa Almeida ( ) , Inês Raposo ( ) e Sara Chitas ( ), selecionadas por open call! ✨
Durante três semanas, as residentes desenvolveram projetos pessoais de investigação e criação no contexto particular oferecido pela Quinta das Relvas e num tempo pautado por visitas de estudo e sessões de mentoria lideradas por outros artistas nacionais de reconhecido mérito.
O terceiro artista convidado desta edição foi Diogo Pimentão ( ) que, ainda que limitado ao formato online por questões técnicas que nos ultrapassaram e aborreceram (voo cancelado!), fez-se sentir muito próximo! 💚

Over three weeks, the residents developed personal research and creative projects within the unique context offered by Quinta das Relvas, in a program shaped by study visits and mentoring sessions led by other nationally recognized artists.

The third invited artist of this edition was Diogo Pimentão (), who, although limited to an online format due to technical issues beyond our control (a cancelled flight!), still felt very present and close. 💚

Over the course of three weeks, the residents developed personal research and creative projects within the unique context offered by Quinta das Relvas, in a schedule enriched by study visits and mentoring sessions led by other nationally recognized artists.
The first invited artist to provide this guidance was Tiago Rocha Costa, a former GRÃO resident (1st edition – 2019) — and it was wonderful to have him back! 🐛

Últimos dias para visita A ESPERA FÉRTIL, a mais recente exposição no âmbito do projeto CURARTE - Arte e Saúde em Espaço Público, no Centro de Saúde da Branca (Albergaria-a-Velha)! 🌱

Os artistas presentes são Bonny Nahmias , Clara Leitão , Diana de Brito .bri , Juliana Matsumura , Rafael Masson .rafa e Sally Santiago , e a curadoria de Raffaella Matrone .

Patente até 29 de maio!

Projeto coordenado pela Associação Quinta das Relvas em parceria protocolar com o Município de Albergaria-a-Velha e UCSP Branca, e apoiado pela Direcção-Geral das Artes.

De 13 a 23 de março, a equipa da Quinta da Relvas contou com o apoio da numa colaboração Build Up focada em sistemas agroflorestais, práticas regenerativas e partilha de conhecimento 🌱

Durante estes dias, a colaboração criou uma oportunidade para trocar experiências, fortalecer ligações e explorar novas abordagens para o desenvolvimento de sistemas mais resilientes e sustentáveis na quinta. A reunião de diferentes perspetivas e conhecimentos práticos permitiu-nos ampliar o trabalho em curso, ao mesmo tempo que melhorámos a qualidade, a credibilidade e a visão de longo prazo das estratégias aplicadas no terreno.

Este programa passou a integrar um processo contínuo de aprendizagem, experimentação e crescimento coletivo, reforçando a importância das parcerias e do conhecimento partilhado na construção de futuros regenerativos 🌿

From March 13th to 23rd, Quinta da Relvas team was supported by for a Build Up collaboration focused on agroforestry systems, regenerative practices, and knowledge sharing 🌱

Over these days, the collaboration created an opportunity to exchange experiences, strengthen connections, and explore new approaches for developing more resilient and sustainable systems on the farm. Bringing together different perspectives and practical knowledge allowed us to expand ongoing work while improving the quality, credibility, and long-term vision behind the strategies being applied on the ground.

This program became part of a continuous process of learning, experimentation, and collective growth reinforcing the importance of partnerships and shared knowledge in building regenerative futures 🌿
