❌ Dizer "não" é um ato de autocuidado!

Muitas vezes dizemos "sim" para evitar conflitos ou agradar aos outros, mas aprender a dizer "não" é essencial para proteger o nosso tempo e bem-estar. Aqui estão três estratégias para recusar de forma assertiva:

🔹 Define os teus limites – sabes até onde podes ir.
🔹 Usa um tom firme, mas respeitoso – um "não" claro não precisa de explicação longa.
🔹 Oferece alternativas quando possível – mostra que valorizas a relação.

We often say "yes" to avoid conflict or please others, but learning to say "no" is essential for protecting our time and well-being.
Here are three strategies to say no assertively:

🔹 Offer alternatives when possible – show that you value the relationship.

O custo de vida não é estático e varia drasticamente entre as capitais europeias devido ao Índice de Preços no Consumidor (IPC). 🌍

Através do projeto YouthFile, incentivamos os jovens que planeiam mobilidade internacional (como Erasmus ou primeiro emprego no estrangeiro) a analisar o Poder de Compra Real. Ensinamos a utilizar bases de dados como o Eurostat para comparar o rendimento médio líquido com os custos de habitação e com a cesta alimentar local.

Compreender que um salário nominal de 2000€ pode ter menos valor em Paris do que 1200€ numa cidade média é crucial para uma independência financeira sustentável e para evitar choques económicos na transição para o estrangeiro. ✈️

The cost of living is not static and varies drastically between European capitals due to the Consumer Price Index (CPI). 🌍

Through the YouthFile project, we encourage young people planning international mobility (such as Erasmus or a first job abroad) to analyse Real Purchasing Power. We teach how to use databases like Eurostat to compare net average income with local housing and food basket costs.

Understanding that a nominal salary of €2000 may have less value in Paris than €1200 in a medium-sized city is crucial for sustainable financial independence and for avoiding economic shocks during international transitions.

Um fundo de emergência não é apenas dinheiro poupado; é um seguro contra a ansiedade económica. 📱 Segundo a psicologia financeira, ter uma reserva líquida que cubra entre 3 e 6 meses de despesas fixas reduz drasticamente os níveis de cortisol (stress) relacionados com o dinheiro.

O projeto YouthFile orienta os jovens na construção desta almofada financeira, ensinando que a poupança deve ser tratada como uma "despesa fixa prioritária" — paga-te a ti próprio primeiro, antes de qualquer outro gasto. Esta reserva é o que permite tomar decisões de carreira audazes e enfrentar imprevistos sem entrar em ciclos de endividamento nocivos. 💰

An emergency fund is not just saved money; it is insurance against economic anxiety. 📱 According to financial psychology, having a liquid reserve that covers 3 to 6 months of fixed expenses drastically reduces cortisol (stress) levels related to money.

YouthFile project guides youth in building this financial cushion, teaching that savings should be treated as a "priority fixed expense"—you pay yourself first before any other spending. This reserve is what allows for bold career decisions and facing the unexpected without entering harmful debt cycles.

Welcome to Braga, Verina! 🇪🇬 🇵🇹

We are delighted to welcome Verina from Egypt, who has joined FAJUB through the European Solidarity Corps programme!

Verina is 24 years old and holds a degree in Fine Arts. Since an early age, she has been actively involved in the fields of art, culture, and community projects, developing a strong passion for creativity, cultural exchange, and lifelong learning.

Passionate about volunteering, travelling, and discovering new cultures, Verina enjoys meeting people from different backgrounds and learning about their stories, traditions, and ways of life. Her curiosity and openness to new experiences motivate her to constantly explore different perspectives, learn new languages, and build meaningful connections wherever she goes.

In her free time, Verina enjoys photography, writing, and exploring new places. She loves wandering through cities on foot, observing everyday life, and discovering the small details that make each place unique. She believes that every person and every place has a story worth hearing.

Through her ESC experience at FAJUB, Verina hopes to develop new skills, contribute to local youth initiatives, exchange ideas with people from different cultures, and gain a deeper understanding of Portuguese culture and European youth work.

Welcome to Braga, Nur! 🇪🇸 🇵🇹

We are delighted to welcome Nur to our organization and to Portugal!

Originally from Syria and Venezuela, Nur has grown up around the world and has been constantly traveling since the age of eight. Experiencing different countries and communities has given her a deep appreciation for cultural diversity and a genuine passion for connecting with people from all walks of life. She loves discovering new cultures, learning from others, and building meaningful relationships wherever she goes.

Nur is deeply passionate about human rights and social justice. Having experienced life as a war refugee herself, she dedicates a great deal of her time to reading, learning, and raising awareness about human rights issues. Her personal journey has allowed her to develop a strong sense of empathy and understanding toward migrants, refugees, and vulnerable communities, inspiring her commitment to creating a more inclusive and compassionate world.

Throughout the years, she has participated in volunteer initiatives and has always been driven by the desire to support others and make a positive impact. In her free time, Nur enjoys reading, exploring topics related to psychology, and learning about human behavior. She believes that psychology is one of the most powerful tools for understanding people and building effective communication based on empathy and respect.

Beyond her academic interests, Nur has a great love for art and creativity. She sees art as a universal language that brings people together and allows emotions and stories to be shared across cultures.

During her time in Portugal, Nur hopes to develop new skills, gain valuable experiences, contribute to the local community, and make the most of every opportunity that comes her way. She is excited to learn, grow, and create unforgettable memories during this new chapter.

A FAJUB esteve em Esposende para mais uma ação integrada no projeto europeu Cávado Youth Goals, reforçando o compromisso com a participação ativa dos jovens e a promoção de espaços de diálogo e construção coletiva. 💬🇪🇺

Durante a manhã, dinamizámos uma sessão com uma turma da escola local, onde apresentámos o trabalho desenvolvido pela FAJUB junto da juventude e explorámos os Youth Goals, com especial destaque para o Youth Goal #11 – “Youth Organisations and European Programmes”. A sessão focou-se nos mecanismos de participação e cogestão, incentivando os jovens a refletirem sobre a forma como podem envolver-se nos processos de decisão e contribuir para o desenvolvimento das suas comunidades. Em grupo, os participantes debateram desafios, identificaram oportunidades e apresentaram propostas para uma participação juvenil mais efetiva e representativa.

Na parte da tarde, participámos numa sessão que reuniu jovens, parceiros e representantes do poder local, promovendo um espaço de diálogo com decisores políticos e de partilha de experiências inspiradoras. O momento permitiu reforçar a importância da cogestão e da colaboração entre jovens e instituições na construção de políticas e iniciativas mais próximas das necessidades da juventude.

Acreditamos que uma participação jovem significativa acontece quando os jovens não são apenas ouvidos, mas também envolvidos na tomada de decisão. 🚀

We are very happy to welcome Marlene as a volunteer through the European Solidarity Corps programme. She is a 19-year-old from Graz, Austria, with a creative mindset, a passion for sustainability, and a genuine interest in intercultural exchange and personal growth. ✨

Originally from Graz, Marlene brings enthusiasm, curiosity, and a genuine interest in discovering new cultures and perspectives. Environmental protection is a cause that is especially important to her, and she is particularly interested in sustainable fashion, with a special focus on upcycled clothing and creative reuse. 🌱♻️

With a collaborative spirit and a love for discovering new cultures, Marlene enjoys connecting with people from different backgrounds, learning from diverse perspectives, and contributing to projects that foster solidarity, inclusion, and community engagement. 🌍🤝

In her hometown of Graz, Marlene works as a waiter, where she has developed strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. In her free time, she enjoys travelling, discovering new cultures, crafting, cooking, music and spending time with friends.

A FAJUB marcou presença em Barcelos para mais uma ação integrada no projeto europeu Cávado Youth Goals, promovendo a participação ativa dos jovens e o diálogo entre a juventude e os decisores locais. 💬🇪🇺

Durante a manhã, estivemos com uma turma da escola local a apresentar o trabalho desenvolvido pela FAJUB junto da comunidade e a explorar os Youth Goals, com especial destaque para o Youth Goal #11 – “Youth Organisations and European Programmes”. Após uma breve introdução ao tema, os jovens foram desafiados a refletir e a trabalhar em grupo, desenvolvendo ideias, estratégias e propostas para o futuro da participação juvenil e do associativismo.

Na parte da tarde, participámos numa sessão que reuniu vereadores, parceiros institucionais e jovens do concelho, criando um espaço de diálogo aberto sobre os desafios e oportunidades da juventude. O momento contou ainda com a partilha de testemunhos inspiradores e exemplos de boas práticas que demonstram o impacto da participação jovem na comunidade.

Acreditamos que dar voz aos jovens é essencial para construir comunidades mais participativas, inclusivas e preparadas para o futuro. 🚀
