OVER-SEES is a European project funded by the Erasmus+ programme aimed at promoting excellence in education and vocational training (VET) in island territories, namely in the Azores 🇵🇹, Ireland 🇮🇪, the Aegean Islands 🇬🇷 and Sicily 🇮🇹.

The EU 🇪🇺 aims to reduce the NEET rate among young people to 9% by 2030, as set out in the European Pillar of Social Rights.

The OVER SEES Project supports this vision by tackling youth employment and skills challenges across European island territories, focusing on vocational education and training (VET) excellence leadership for the twin transition.

By embedding essential green and digital competencies into local training frameworks, the OVER SEES Project empowers youth with the precise skills needed for modern, in-demand careers.

The OVER SEES Project has officially concluded its latest round of international workshops with the final gathering at the University of the Aegean (Πανεπιστήμιο Αιγαίου) in Greece! 🇬🇷

This milestone marks the successful completion of a massive collaborative phase, featuring a total of 52 workshops delivered across the map - 48 at the national level and 4 internationally. As the project transitions into its scheduled summer recess, analysis of the workshop findings will continue. 📈

The OVER-SEES Project consortium expresses its gratitude to all institutional partners, facilitators, and participants for their vital contributions to this phase.

The OVER SEES Project touched down in Galway recently, bringing together our consortium of European partners and experts for an intensive, high-energy workshop hosted by the University of Galway. 🇮🇪🌊

This two-day session directly built upon the insights and data gathered during the national workshops held over the previous months, helping to map out a truly collaborative, unified strategy for the next major phases of the project. 🧠

CESIE ETS 🇮🇹 successfully played host to the latest round of international workshops, bringing together partners and experts from across Europe for two days of intense collaboration, innovation, and strategic planning. 🧠

Participants engaged in dynamic working sessions aimed at reflecting on lessons learned from previous sessions, advancing the project’s core objectives, and mapping out the next crucial phases of implementation. 📈

This week we will be heading to Ireland 🇮🇪, with the University of Galway hosting our next transnational workshop on the 4th and 5th of June!

Building upon the 48 national workshops developed throughout the past months, this moment will be an opportunity to reflect on the data collected and working towards creating innovative vocational training programs. 🛠️

The OVER SEES Project recently held its second annual consortium meeting, hosted by CESIE ETS in the historic city of Palermo, in Italy. 🇮🇹

Spanning two full days, this gathering served as a vital engine for the project’s ex*****on, bringing partners together to align on technical strategies, review progress, and sharpen the roadmap ahead. ⚙️👥

Partners also travelled to see a cutting-edge agrivoltaic installation by LAND Impresa Sociale, gaining firsthand insights into the practical integration of solar energy with agriculture, and then visited the Cantine Birgi winery in Marsala to explore sustainable regional practices. 🍋 ☀️ 🍇
