Today is World Alzheimer’s Day, a day to bring dementia into focus and to think about what better care and support should look like.
People living with dementia still have their own histories, relationships, preferences, abilities and the right to be heard. Quality dementia care should protect dignity and autonomy, support respectful communication and help people remain connected to their communities.
Care4Elders brings together partners across Europe to contribute to more integrated and person-centred approaches to dementia care, from early recognition and workforce development to support for families and informal caregivers.
Dementia changes lives. It should never mean losing your place in society.
