Recently, Alpiarça hosted a co-creation workshop for the Erasmus+ Nudging2Move project, bringing together local authorities and the community to promote physical activity.

The session focused on developing practical, evidence-based solutions for a four-month pilot program launching later this year.

This initiative highlights the municipality’s commitment to improving public health through innovation and community-driven decision-making.

The Nudging2Move project partners recently met online to discuss the next steps of the project and coordinate upcoming activities.

During the meeting, partners discussed the selection of the CUS Palermo European Project Office account as a collaborator, in order to strengthen the project’s dissemination activities.

The consortium also emphasized the importance of promptly sharing documentation from the recently completed workshops, so that the communication team can effectively disseminate the results through the project’s social media channels.

In addition, partners:

- defined the timeline for the upcoming pilot activities

- agreed on the methodology for monitoring and analysing nudging data

- finalized the organizational details of the next project meeting, which will take place in Türkiye.

The Nudging2Move partnership continues to work together to promote active and sustainable mobility through behavioural nudges.

Sometimes we underestimate how close many daily destinations really are.

In just 10 minutes, you can walk to nearby places, cycle several kilometers or easily combine walking with public transport.

Yet, for many short trips, the car is still the default choice.

Rethinking these small daily journeys can make a big difference — for our health, for our cities and for the environment.

Small changes in mobility habits can lead to cleaner, healthier and more liveable communities.

💬 What about you? How far can you go in 10 minutes in your city? Comment below.

Walking used to be a natural part of daily life.

Today, for many people, it has almost disappeared from everyday routines.

Urban design, long distances and new habits have gradually made walking less common. But cities can change this.

More walkable streets, safer crossings and better public spaces can make walking easier — and more natural again.

Small changes in our environment can lead to healthier people and more liveable cities.

💬 What do you think? Do you walk less today than you did a few years ago? Comment below.

It’s not just about bike lanes or public transport.

It’s about culture, behavior, design, and small nudges that shape everyday decisions.

Active mobility doesn’t happen by chance.
It happens by design.

At Nudging2Move, we explore how behavioral insights and urban planning can work together to create healthier, more sustainable cities.

💬 What is your city missing most: Infrastructure, Culture, Policy, Awareness or Nudging?

🇺🇦 Something powerful happened in the Chernivtsi region: Ukraine partners brought teachers together to co-design simple nudges that can help school-age children move more—right when everyday routines are harder than ever.

📅 16 Feb 2026 | 📍 Velykyi Kuchuriv Territorial Community
👥 29 teachers | ⏱️ 3 hours of hands-on co-design

🎩 Using the Six Thinking Hats method, the group turned ideas into decisions—what’s realistic, what’s impactful, and what fits the local context.

And even when an air raid alarm forced part of the session to continue in a shelter, the work didn’t stop.

✅ Selected nudges for the pilot phase include:

- Social norm messages (“Most people here choose to walk / take the stairs”)

- “Walking vs. driving: the real time difference” prompts

- Reflective reminder bracelets (safety + motivation)

- NFC keyrings linking to Nudging2Move resources

👉 Follow to see these nudges move from workshop to real-life testing.

🌿 Palermo just co-designed its nudge!

📅 On 23 January 2026, we hosted the N2M Local Case Study Workshop at CUS Palermo, bringing together coaches, trainers, local institutions and international colleagues for a hands-on selection session.

🎩 Using the Six Thinking Hats method (guided by a psychologist), the group chose a practical, inclusive solution: Digital Leaderboards—a way to turn daily steps or cycling distance into friendly community challenges.

🚀 Next: a dedicated Strava Club, challenges across Palermo and surroundings, and simple non-monetary rewards to keep motivation high.

Proud moment for Nudging2Move!

On December 4, 2025, Olga Beshlei (Social Manager, NGO “Youth. Science. Sport. Healthy Movement of Ukraine”) presented our work at the XXV International Scientific and Practical Conference “Physical Culture, Sports, and Health: Status, Problems, and Prospects.”

Why this matters: WHO reports that more than 80% of adolescents and 27% of adults do not meet recommended physical activity levels—so small, scalable changes can have a big impact.

Next up in the project: data analysis, local workshops, and pilot testing of nudges developed by each partner.
