🌍🕊️ International Youth Conference for Peace in the Future
On 6 August, we had the opportunity to take part in the International Youth Conference for Peace in the Future, held in Évora.
The day brought together young people with Carlos Zorrinho - Mayor of Évora, Tsutomu Nakagawa – Ambassador of Japan, besides; international representatives and experts to reflect on one of the most important questions of our time:
🕊️ How can we, as the new generation, contribute to building a more peaceful, fair and united future?
We had the opportunity to participate in the inauguration of the Jardim da Paz and attend the inspiring “Conversa sobre a Paz com…”, with the participation of representatives from the Municipality of Évora, the Embassy of Japan in Portugal, RTP/Antena 1 and the United Nations.
For us at Rising Youth Alliance, youth participation is not only about creating opportunities for young people to travel and learn abroad. It is also about giving young people a voice in their communities and creating spaces where they can discuss, question and contribute to the future they want to live in. 🌱🤝
We are grateful to the Câmara Municipal de Évora for bringing young people together around such an important topic and for giving us the opportunity to be part of this meaningful day.
