Al-Haq participated in and spoke alongside the internationally renowned Chris Sidoti at an Amnesty International Australia event in Sydney, in conversation with Nour Haydar, on how to reclaim the rules-based international order. Our contribution highlighted the impact of U.S. sanctions on our work to protect and defend human rights in Palestine, international justice and accountability.

Al-Haq recognises the sanctions against individual Israelis and Israeli entities, announced on 9 June 2026 by Australia, Canada, France, Norway, and the United Kingdom, with the stated purpose: to ‘disrupt the flows of finance that have allowed extremist settler groups to act with impunity in the West Bank’, and ‘to protect the viability of the two-state solution’ by ‘urgent implementation of the 20 Point Peace Plan’. The joint statement, while indicating action against a limited number of individual Israelis and Israeli entities responsible for the maintenance of the unlawful occupation, falls far short of recognising the legal obligations upon Third States.

تعزية ومواساة

ببالغ الحزن والأسى، تنعى مؤسسة الحق، ممثلةً بأعضاء الجمعية العمومية وأعضاء مجلس الإدارة والإدارة التنفيذية وفريق المؤسسة، الزميل السابق أحمد جرادات، الذي وافته المنية يوم أمس، الموافق 7 حزيران/يونيو 2026.

عمل الزميل الراحل أحمد جرادات باحثاً ميدانياً في مؤسسة الحق، وتحديداً في مجال رصد وتوثيق انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان في الأرض الفلسطينية المحتلة، في منطقة بيت لحم، وكان جزءاً من فريق المؤسسة منذ عام 1987 وحتى عام 1997.

نسأل الله عز وجل أن يتغمد الفقيد بواسع رحمته، وأن يسكنه فسيح جناته، وأن يلهم أهله وذويه الصبر والسلوان. كما نتقدم إلى أسرته وزملائه وكافة محبيه بخالص العزاء وصادق مشاعر المواساة.

With profound sadness and sorrow, Al-Haq, represented by its General Assembly members, Board of Directors, Executive Management, and staff, mourns the passing of former colleague Ahmad Jaradat, who passed away on 7 June 2026.

The late Ahmad Jaradat worked as a field researcher at Al-Haq, focusing on monitoring and documenting human rights violations in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, particularly in the Bethlehem area. He was a member of the Al-Haq team from 1987 to 1997.

We extend our heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy to his family, colleagues, and all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
