The Health for All Program conducts a field activity.
The health team continues its activities for the month of January 2024 by implementing a first aid course for ninth grade girls at Balata First Girls School. The health team explained the basics of first aid and how to deal with injuries such as: burns, bleeding, and fractures.
Learning for such courses leads to the development of first aid knowledge and skills for the children. The students explored the topic of first aid and how to develop their abilities in the event of minor injuries. The students interacted greatly with the training.

Yafa Scouts and Guides group participates in an entertainment event.
Yafa Scouts and Guides group, led by the Leader Tuhfa Al-Sarouji, participated in a special entertainment day for girls, and this comes within the activities of the Nablus Scouts Commission. The entertainment day included many recreational and educational activities that sought to spread joy and pleasure in the hearts of the children. These activities come in light of the current conditions, where a half of children in Palestine already need support in the field of trauma related to conflict and wars. Without a doubt, children's need for health and psychosocial support services has greatly increased.

Yafa Cultural Center inaugrates a youth project "Preparing Young Leaders"
Saturday 13/01/2024, the training at Yafa Cultural Center started to prepare young leaders. The project was inaugurated in the presence of the head of Yafa Cultural Center, Tayseer Nasrallah, the project coordinator at the Palestinian National Committee for Education, Culture, and Science, Shorouk Al-Shallah, the accountant in the projects department of the National Committee, Yassin Abu Sultan, and the director of Public relations at the National and Political guidance, Ahmed Hashash, and trainers: Dr. Muhammad Bisharat, Julia Awad, project coordinator Muhammad Al-Mesimi, and a group of Yafa Center employees.
The project was inaugurated by standing to the national anthem of Palestine and then reciting Sourat Al-Fatihah for the souls of the martyrs. Nasrallah , in his speech on behalf of the Board of Directors of Yafa Center, welcomed the attendees and expressed his appreciation for the cooperation and partnership with the Palestinian National Committee for Education, Culture and Science and his sincere thanks to them for providing support and assistance in financing the “Preparing Young Leaders” project. He spoke about the importance of the training in refining the character of young men and women. In various life skills, he stressed the importance of commitment to the training to create continuity that enables participants to fully benefit from the training. He also stressed the need for the center to create a young and leadership generation to serve the people of Balata camp.
In turn, Yassin Abu Sultan, thanked Yafa Cultural Center for hosting the session. He stressed that the National Committee is always seeking to recruit and increase financial support by financing projects for civil society institutions, and that it is always seeking to intensify its efforts to gain greater demand and support for the projects of the State of Palestine.
In his speech, Ahmed Hashash, Director of Public Relations at the Political and National Guidance Authority, emphasized the active and important role played by the Yafa Cultural Center in providing the camp’s residents with young and effective leaders.
It is noteworthy that the project to prepare young leaders will focus on the following topics: leadership skill, negotiation skill, communication skill, problem solving and decision-making, national values, life stress management skill, and project writing skill. This is in addition to a group of external activities, which will include visits to active figures and influential institutions within Palestinian society.
It is worth noting that the number of participants in the course is thirty, and the duration of the course is six months.

Summary of the "Health for All" Program Activities in 2023

The "Health for All" team at the Yafa Cultural Center, in collaboration with emergency physicians from Boston Hospital, concluded an intensive first aid and emergency response course. The course covered handling choking incidents, injuries, fractures, and wounds. This initiative is part of the Palestinian Health and Human Rights Program, a collaboration between Birzeit University and Harvard University. The three-day course included training for health workers on emergency procedures, with a special focus on coping with the recent emergencies in the Balata camp, especially under Israeli aggression and occupation. The training also covered dealing with cases of gas inhalation and live bullet injuries.

Last month, the Yafa Cultural Center, in collaboration with Lajee center in Aida camp and under the sponsorship of the "One for Three" foundation in Boston, resumed the "Health for All" program. The program aims to provide healthcare to patients with hypertension and diabetes in the Balata camp.

The center conducted a free medical activity focused on neurological and brain diseases. The Palestinian neurology specialist, Dr. Karama Hawash from a children's hospital in Boston, attended the event. The activity targeted children aged one to 20 suffering from neurological and brain disorders, including autism, attention deficit disorder, hyperactivity, mental growth delay, neurological paralysis, speech delay, migraines, epilepsy, and more.

The center organized a two-day free medical activity with three family medicine doctors and a pediatric nurse from Boston, who toured the camp to examine and identify the needs of patients benefiting from the program. The visit included the inspection of Yafa's exemplary kindergarten and nursery to examine some children.

The "Health for All" team at the Yafa Cultural Center held a coordination meeting with the Medical College Union at An-Najah National University. The meeting discussed potential collaboration in organizing health workshops and awareness campaigns for hypertension and diabetes patients benefiting from the program. The discussion also explored the possibility of having a specialized doctor attend to various cases, along with medical students assisting in identifying different cases of hypertension and diabetes.

The team met nursing students from the El-andaleeb College of Nursing, where the students gave a presentation on diabetes and hypertension to the program's beneficiaries (95 patients). The lecture covered causes, symptoms, preventive measures, necessary medications, and how to deal with these diseases. The team accompanied nursing students during a tour in Balata camp to visit beneficiaries dealing with Alzheimer's, depression, and Down syndrome.

The "Health for All" program organized an entertaining activity for the children of Yafa's exemplary kindergarten and nursery in collaboration with the El-andaleeb College of Nursing. The activity included an explanation to children about the benefits of a balanced, healthy diet, the importance of personal hygiene, and the distribution of toothbrushes, along with a demonstration of proper teeth brushing techniques.

Nursing students from the El-andaleeb college also provided an introductory lecture on some psychological disorders to the "Health for All" team at the Yafa Cultural Center, as part of their collaboration.

The program's team at the Yafa Cultural Center organized a health and entertainment day for program beneficiaries on Mother's Day. Nursing students from the El-andaleeb College, as well as students from An-Najah University, Ibn Sina, and Abu Dis University, participated. The event included presentations on diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and Alzheimer's, allowing beneficiaries to share their information and ask questions. Additionally, there were recreational activities, general knowledge questions, and prize distribution
- Dr. Henry and Dr. Judy delivered a lecture to the "Health for All" team at both the Yafa and Lajee Center .
- A free medical day was conducted with the participation of physicians from the "Health for All" program specializing in family medicine and general medicine. Approximately 38 patients benefited, and medications for general medicine were provided. The day also included a screening of a film about tuberculosis and AIDS in Haiti and Boston, highlighting the team's role in treating and monitoring 78 patients.
- Physicians from the "Health for All" program, in collaboration with the program team, visited the Balata camp to familiarize themselves with the cases being followed by the team.
- The team, in collaboration with the Volunteer Committee for Medical Students at An-Najah University, invited program beneficiaries for a healthy breakfast and symbolic gifts (winter scarves). The students also provided essential advice to the patients.

- A delegation from the One For Three foundation, accompanied by the Health for All team and the Lajee Center, visited. The team presented a video about the health team's work, provided a detailed explanation of the deteriorating security situation within the camp, and highlighted the team's achievements and success stories.
- A workshop was conducted, including a communal breakfast for 52 patients, in collaboration with the Center for Women's Studies, addressing how to deal with patients

- Several meetings and activities with Dr. Henry and Dr. Judy focused on lectures in various areas, including communication with patients, psychological support, medications, and dosages for patients.
- Coordination with various social and legal institutions to economically support and empower women beneficiaries of the program, including the possibility of initiating small projects to empower them in their daily lives.
- Distribution of awareness and health brochures, along with several sessions for psychological relief and recreational activities.

The scout group in YCC has conducted 69 activities during the year 2023, here we post part of these activities and they are as follows:
1. A group of scouts and guides from Yafa, along with volunteers from the Civil Defense Center in Yafa, participated in the event "Protecting Yourselves, Your Right is Your Right," organized by the Civil Defense in partnership with the Bank of Palestine and the General Union of Persons with Disabilities. The event aims to build the capabilities of people with disabilities in dealing with crises and train them on how to use general safety equipment.

2Yafa Center participated in a workshop on public safety under the supervision of the Civil Defense in collaboration with the Blind Association in Nablus. The blind were trained on how to deal with household fires and how to extinguish them, utilizing their heightened sensitivity to the matter. Additionally, participants were introduced to different types of firefighting materials. Yafa Center was represented by Raed Al-Khatib, the leader of Yafa Scouts and Guides.

3 On the occasion of World Cancer Day and with the participation of Yafa Cultural Center, a meeting was held to discuss the organization of the health sports marathon at the Youth Community Training Center, in partnership with the Life Print Foundation and with the presence of twenty-six social, health, and sports institutions. 4 The Volunteer Committee, a branch of the Higher Emergency Committee in Nablus, held a meeting to discuss the human and logistical capabilities of each institution and the intervention plan in emergency situations at the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in Nablus. A number of Yafa Scouts participated in distributing water and dates and preparing food for fasting individuals in the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. The group continues its daily Ramadan program by distributing water and dates at the Jerusalem Street intersection in Nablus.

8The Political and National Guidance Authority, represented by Colonel Mohammed Aabid, the Director of Political Guidance in Nablus, and Major Raif Shahada, the Deputy Director, and Major Ziyab Haji, the Director of Public Relations at the Authority, visited the Yafa Cultural Center. They were received by the center's president, Taysir Nasrallah, and the leader of the Yafa Scouts and Guides, Raed Al-Khatib. The visit aims to discuss cooperation between the Authority and the center. In turn, the attendees praised the cultural and national activities of the Yafa Cultural Center.

9Yafa Scouts and Guides Group participated in World Environment Day in Nablus under the slogan "Combat Plastic Pollution," organized by the Environmental Quality Authority in partnership with the Palestinian Scouts Association and with the participation of representatives from official, security, and civil institutions. The event included a scout march from Martyrs Square in the center of Nablus towards the gardens of Jamal Abdul Nasser in the city. Various interactive activities were organized, including an environmental competition with the distribution of prizes (plastic flower shapes) made from recycled plastic bottles. Glass containers and cardboard cups were used to distribute water to the participants.

10Yasser Arafat Summer Camp continues its activities at the Yafa Cultural Center. Balaata Camp: The Yasser Arafat Summer Camp at the Yafa Cultural Center continued its activities for the second consecutive day under the leadership of the leader of Yafa Scouts and Guides, Raed Al-Khatib, and a group of supervisors specializing in art, dabke (traditional dance), theater, sports, and national culture. Al-Khatib expressed sincere thanks to the Yasser Arafat Foundation and El- Shamal Electricity Distribution Company for sponsoring the summer camp and providing financial support.
The supervisors divided the participants into four groups named after Palestinian cities, including Nablus, Jerusalem, Jenin, and Gaza. The camp included various activities and corners, including national education, in the presence of the Political and National Guidance Authority, in addition to sports activities, dabke, handicrafts, arts, and crafts.
It's worth mentioning that the number of participating children in the camp is approximately fifty, aged between 8-14 years, and it continues for two weeks.

11 Yafa Scouts and Guides Group participated in recycling workshops focused on car tires, initiated by the Civil Defense and implemented by the Environmental Quality Authority's office in Nablus. The workshops were hosted by Balaata Primary School, Yafa Center, and targeted a group of Civil Defense volunteers who were trained on how to convert car tire waste into useful forms for the school's garden, such as agricultural bottles and benches. Gratitude and appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of the training course.

The specialized committees of the Scouts Commissionerate in Nablus held their central annual meeting to develop the action plan for the year 2024. The Commissionerate's president, Commander Jabra Zrafeeli, opened the meeting with a minute of silence, mourning, and reading Fatiha, followed by prayers for the souls of the martyrs of Gaza and Palestine in general. The committees then proceeded to discuss their proposed plans. The meeting was hosted by the Arab Christian Scouts and Guides Group.

The Nablus Commissionerate, in collaboration with the Palestinian Medical Relief Association in Nablus, held a First Aid course with the participation of a group of scouts and guides from Yafa affiliated with the Yafa Cultural Center. The first session of the specialized First Aid course took place at the Medical Relief Center in Nablus. The course is part of the plan developed by the Nablus Commissionerate and its specialized committees to equip leaders of the scouting movement and its members with skills, knowledge, and awareness in this field. Commander Raed Al-Khatib expressed his gratitude to the Commissionerate for organizing this course, emphasizing its importance in the current sensitive period, especially with the repeated invasions by the occupation of Balata Camp and the difficulty of collaborating with injury cases in light of the occupation's prevention of ambulance entry into the camp.

Nablus Commission concludes First Aid training
The Nablus Governorate Scout Commission and the Palestinian Medical Relief Society in the governorate conclude the specialized First Aid training.
The First Aid course concluded with the holding of the final specialized exam on the topics in which training was conducted for all commanders, rangers and rescuers who received practical and theoretical training on first aid topics under the supervision of a specialized trainer from the Palestinian Medical Relief Society. At the of the session, the Nablus Commission, represented by its president, Commander Jabra Zarafili, and members of the administrative body, presented A trophy of as an appreciation to the Palestinian Medical Relief, which was received by the director of the Nablus branch, Dr. Ghassan Hamdan, who stressed the importance of qualifying young people and preparing them with paramedic skills, in addition to he thanked and appreciated the role of the Trainer Mustafa.

An Italian parliamentary delegation visited Yafa Cultural Center in Balata camp.
Tayseer Nasrallah, member of the Fatah Revolutionary Council and head of Yafa Cultural Center, received an Italian parliamentary delegation consisting of Roberto Sperenza, the current member of the Italian Parliament and former Minister of Health, and Arturo Scotto.
the meeting took place at the headquarters of Yafa Cultural Center in Balata Camp, in the presence of the Director of International Relations and Projects, Ossama Mustafa, and the heads of the various units in the center.
There was an in-depth discussion about the field conditions and the rapid political developments throughout the Palestinian territories.
Nasrallah gave an explanation of the field and political situation inside the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and the necessity of immediate and urgent action to stop the Israeli aggression against our people. He also stressed the role of national, cultural and media institutions in exposing Israeli practices, which take cover from some Western governments in covering up their ongoing crimes. .
Nasrallah called on the members of the delegation to convey the message of the Palestinian people, who are subjected to a real war of genocide and mass ethnic cleansing, to the Italian people, and the necessity of working to recognize the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
At the end of the meeting, Arturo and Sperenza thanked Yafa Center for hosting, and stressed their support for the rights of the Palestinian people, stopping the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and the necessity of recognizing the Palestinian state in the Italian Parliament.

The Nablus Commission holds a first aid course with the participation of the Yafa Cultural Scouts and Guides in Balata Camp.
The Nablus Governorate Scout Commission held a first aid course in cooperation with the Palestinian Medical Relief Society in Nablus Governorate and with the participation of a group of Yafa Scouts and Guides affiliated with Yafa Cultural Center.
The first session of the specialized first aid course was organized at the Medical Relief Center in Nablus, which comes within the plan developed by the Nablus Commission and its specialized committees for the purposes of imparting skills and knowledge and raising awareness among the leaders of the Scout movement and its adult members in this field.
Commander Raed Al-Khatib expressed his thanks to the Commission for this session due to its importance in this sensitive period, especially with the repeated raids of the occupation forces for Balata camp and the difficulty of dealing with cases of casualties in light of the occupation preventing the entry of ambulances into the camp.
