Combatants for Peace was invited to speak about the work we do in front of diplomats at the Canadian ambassadors residence last week.

We shared about our field activities and educational programs, and called for greater international pressure to ensure that the Israeli government upholds the human rights of Palestinians.

"We came to give some good time to children who get to study only three days a week and suffer from settler violence. We're here to support their families, their parents and their right to education" - Shir, our Israeli Field Activities Coordinator shares about the solidarity day we joined in Ein al-Baida.

A few pictures from the solidarity day with children in the Northern Jordan Valley, where our activists helped organize activities for more than 100 children from local communities.

Seeing their joy gave us hope and strength to continue resisting alongside Palestinian communities under threat.

A day of fun and solidarity with children of the Jordan Valley 🎈

On Friday, we joined dozens of activists from different movements in Ein al-Baida, where we organized activities for more than 100 children from villages across the area. The children enjoyed puppet shows, clown performances, water and sports games, and received gifts and school supplies to help them start the new school year.

At a time when Palestinian children’s right to education is constantly threatened, we wanted to create a moment of joy and support the resilience of their families. When their education is disrupted, limited or denied by settler attacks, checkpoints and financial constraints, we stand with them.

We demand that the Israeli government uphold its obligations as the occupying power and take every necessary step to ensure that Palestinian children’s right to education is respected.

Following our screening at the UN Office at Geneva, "There Is Another Way" was shown at Cinélux Geneva, with CfP co-founder Sulaiman Khatib, activist Iris Gur, and director Stephen Apkon in attendance.

Once again, we had the opportunity to share our truth: that even through devastating times, Palestinians and Israelis have continued to work together.

Combatants for Peace, alongside 45+ Israeli civil society organizations, has released a statement in Hebrew to express our support to Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, the directors of “NAZA,” and our appreciation for their courage and their commitment to uncovering the truth.

On Saturday, we distributed school bags to children in Susiya, where their right to education is constantly threatened 🎒

Like other communities in Masafer Yatta, Susiya is often targeted by settler attacks on residents and property. Teachers and students pay a heavy price: they are regularly prevented from reaching school by settler violence, roadblocks, settlement expansion and army restrictions.

Located in Area C, the village has faced attempts at ethnic cleansing for years.

Visit our website to learn more about the Israeli government’s violation of Palestinian children’s right to education.

Thank you to the Winfield family for their generous donation and for standing with the children of Susiya.
