SkateQilya SkateQilya is a youth empowerment program using skateboarding and art to teach community building and leadership skills to Palestinian girls and boys.

SkateQilya (Skate-Kil-ee-uh) is a youth empowerment program that uses skateboarding as a tool to teach art, community building and leadership skills to Palestinian girls and boys in the West Bank. Launched in the summer of 2016 as a three-week summer camp, 11 girls and 11 boys, ages 10-16 from the city of Qalqilya and the neighboring village of Jayyous, came together in the first co-ed athletic program in the Northern West Bank. In the wake of this success we have become a US non-profit and are in the process of receiving our 501c3 status.

SkateQilya is the first co-ed athletic program in the northern West Bank. Through skateboarding, photography, and leadership training, we teach mutual respect, trust, and shared responsibility. We aren't just teaching kids to ride; we are building visionary leaders for a better world.

My name is Mohammed Othman. I’ve dedicated my life to Palestine and its youth. I am the founder of SkateQilya, a youth program that uses skateboarding and art to build community and leadership.
