From Palestine

Authentic Kufiyas handmade by the last standing factory in Palestine. The traditional Palestinian scarf is known as Kufiya, Keffiyeh or Hatta; is the iconic garment that holds the greatest symbolic value of the history, struggle and pride for Palestine and its people. Unfortunately, the local manufacturing of the symbol of the Palestinian struggle for freedom is vanishing as most K

ufiyas sold around the world and even in Palestine are made in China or India. Today, only one factory remains in Palestine: The Hirbawi family in Hebron continues to weave the only original Kufiya made in Palestine. Kufiya.org joins the efforts of Palestine’s last kufiyas production factory. By trading the Hirbawi Kufiyas, our aim is to reverse the current trend and revive the local traditional production of the Palestinian scarves. We offer you the unique opportunity to purchase an original Kufiya delivered to your home, worldwide. Read More:

In Palestine, resilience is in everything we do.

In every kufiya we make, every tradition we preserve, every story we refuse to forget.

For decades, we have continued to create, love, rebuild, and hold onto our land and identity.

And we always will.

These Palestinian flags are carefully made by women in the Dheisheh and Aida refugee camps in Bethlehem women who continue to create, provide, and preserve identity despite generations of hardship.

For them, this is more than work. It is resilience, dignity, and connection to a homeland that lives in every stitch.
And no matter how much the world tries to silence what this flag represents, it continues to rise carried by the people who never stopped believing in it.

You can support their work and own a Palestinian flag handmade in Palestine at www.kufiya.org

Today, May 15th, Palestinians around the world remember the Nakba, meaning “catastrophe” in Arabic. It marks the mass displacement of Palestinians in 1948, when hundreds of thousands of families were forced from their homes and villages, leaving behind everything they knew and loved, believing they would soon return.

For Palestinians, the Nakba is not just history; it is inherited grief. Generations have grown up carrying memories, stories, and longing for homes they have never seen with their own eyes. It is the ache of being separated from your roots while still feeling them live inside you every day.

But Palestinians carry more than loss. They carry memory, dignity, resilience, and an unbreakable connection to home. The Nakba lives on in every story told at the family table, every old key kept safe for generations, and every heart that still refuses to forget.

Today, on World Kufiya Day, we celebrate the Palestinian Kufiya, as a symbol of identity, freedom, resilience, and an unbreakable connection to our homeland.

For generations, the Kufiya has carried the story of Palestine. It has become a symbol recognized around the world, worn with pride by people who believe in justice, solidarity, and the right of Palestinians to exist, to remain, and to be heard.

For us at Hirbawi, this day carries a special meaning. As the last remaining Kufiya factory in Palestine, there was a time when this factory was hanging by a thread. There were moments when it felt impossible to continue. But the growing love for Palestine and the Kufiya around the world gave this factory new life.

Every person who wore a Kufiya, shared our story, supported our work, or stood beside Palestine became part of keeping this tradition alive. Because of you, we were able to continue weaving, grow our production, add more looms, and carry the Palestinian Kufiya from our factory in Palestine to people across the world.

Hirbawi has never only been about making Kufiyas. It has always been about preserving Palestinian heritage, sharing our stories, and making sure our voices continue to be heard.

And in the words of our father and founder Yasser Hirbawi, if God wills it, we will never stop producing kufiyas made in Palestine.

To Thiago Ávila,

Our hearts are with you as you grieve the loss of your mother while being taken by Israel and held in prison without reason or trial after standing for Palestine and the people of Gaza.

You risked your freedom to bring humanitarian aid to families living through siege, bombing, hunger, and unimaginable suffering.

And now, during one of the hardest moments of your life, you are carrying the pain of losing your mother away from home and away from the people you love.

No son should have to experience that kind of heartbreak alone.

Your courage, humanity, and compassion have moved people across the world. Even through grief, injustice, and loss, you continue to remind people what it means to stay human.

We send our deepest condolences to you and your family, and we honor everything you have done for Palestine and for humanity.
