[Français suit] ⛵ Illegal attack on the Global Sumud flotilla: Canadians kidnapped by the zionist entity are on a hunger strike
While attention is focused on israel’s crimes in the Mediterranean Sea, kidnapped Canadians are calling for the release of Palestinian prisoners.

The vast majority of Canadians participating in the mission have decided to go on a hunger strike in the event of an attack and abduction by the israeli occupation.
This hunger strike serves not only to denounce their own arbitrary abduction and detention, but above all to refocus international attention on the more than 10,000 Palestinian prisoners held hostages by the zionist colonial regime, often without trial and under inhumane conditions, as well as on the growing criminalization of solidarity with Palestine around the world.
The Canadian citizens participating in this civilian mission to Gaza are aware of the profound media and political imbalance that means the detention of human rights defenders can sometimes receive more attention than that of thousands of Palestinians who have been subjected to this violence and acts of torture for decades.
Any attention focused on the detention of citizens from 45 countries who have come in solidarity with the Palestinian people’s struggle for liberation must serve to amplify the voices of Palestinian prisoners held captive by a colonial system of repression and incarceration, and to denounce the criminalization of international solidarity.

⛵ Attaque illégale sur la flottille Global Sumud : des Canadien·nes kidnappé·es par l'occupation israélienne en grève de la faim
Alors que les yeux sont tournés vers les crimes de l'occupation israélienne dans la mer méditérannée, des Canadien·nes kidnappé·es appellent à la libération des prisonnier·ères palestinien·nes.

La grande majorité des Canadien·nes participant à la mission ont pris la décision d’entamer une grève de la faim en cas d’attaque et d’enlèvement par l’occupation israélienne.
La grève de la faim ne sert pas seulement à dénoncer leur propre enlèvement et détention arbitraire, mais surtout à recentrer l’attention internationale sur les plus de 10 000 prisonnier·ères palestinien·nes, otages du régime colonial sioniste, souvent sans procès et dans des conditions inhumaines, ainsi que sur la criminalisation croissante de la solidarité avec la Palestine partout dans le monde.
Les citoyen·nes canadien·nes participant à cette mission civile vers Gaza sont conscient·es du profond déséquilibre médiatique et politique qui fait que la détention de défenseurs des droits humains peut parfois recevoir davantage d’attention que celle de milliers de Palestinien·nes qui subissent cette violence et des actes de torture depuis des décennies.
Toute attention liée à la détention des citoyen·nes venu·es de 45 pays en solidarité avec la lutte de libération du peuple palestinien doit servir à amplifier les voix des prisonnier·ères palestinien·nes retenu·es captif·ves par un système colonial de répression et d’enfermement, et à dénoncer la criminalisation de la solidarité internationale.
