Household Essentials… Restoring a Sense of Normal Life

Amid the difficult conditions many families are facing, even the simplest household essentials have become basic necessities.

Bakra Foundation distributed essential household items to a number of families, helping them meet their daily needs and ease part of the burdens they endure.

These items may seem simple, but they enable families to manage their daily lives with dignity.

A pot. A bucket. A set of bowls.
You probably have all of these in your home right now — without ever thinking about them.

When families in Gaza are forced to flee, they leave everything behind. Not just their homes.
Their kitchens. Their dishes. The small, everyday objects that made a house feel like a home.
But today, something different happened.
We walked into the tents — and for the first time in a long time, we saw joy. Mothers laughing. Children holding up new bowls like they were the greatest gift in the world.
Families receiving the basics that you and I take for granted every single day.

Some needs don’t make the headlines.

No one talks about the mother in a Gaza tent who hasn’t had shampoo in months. No one counts the children who start their day without a toothbrush.

But we see them.

After two and a half years of displacement, the smallest things have become the hardest to find — soap, shampoo, a simple hygiene kit.
That’s why we showed up — walking through the tents, handing hygiene kits to families who had gone far too long without them.

Because no one should have to choose between survival and dignity.

The village has begun to bear fruit and reap the results of your donations.

I remember on the first day we opened the village 4 months ago, many children refused to commit; I even remember some of them running away from the village.

The main reason for running away was the psychological trauma that all the children suffer from. Today, the children's souls have begun to heal, their physical health is improving, their mental health has become better, and their academic achievement has become outstanding—all of this is because of your donations and messages.

Amidst severe food shortages and skyrocketing prices, displaced families inside the camps continue their daily struggle just to secure their basic needs.

This Friday, we distributed over 200 fresh fruit and vegetable baskets to the families in greatest need, providing essential nutrition to help ease some of the overwhelming living burdens they face.

These baskets were so much more than just fresh produce; they were a lifeline for families exhausted by endless displacement, and a crucial support that allows them to meet their nutritional needs with dignity.

In light of food scarcity and soaring prices, families inside the camps continue their daily battle to secure their basic needs.

On Friday, we distributed more than 200 fruit and vegetable baskets to the families most in need, providing essential food items to help alleviate some of the living burdens they face.

These baskets were not just fruits and vegetables; they were a lifeline for families exhausted by displacement, and a helping hand enabling them to meet their nutritional needs with dignity.

👕 Clothing support for 200 orphaned and amputee children
🥩 1,000 kg of meat distributed
🍱 500 food parcels distributed
🥬 250 vegetable baskets distributed
🧼 120 personal hygiene kits distributed
🛒 120 shopping vouchers provided
🩺 120 kidney dialysis patients supported
📚 Education support for 200 orphaned and amputee children

Every single number here… is a human being. A family that slept in peace. A child who returned to school. A patient who found someone standing beside them.
Alone, we could never have reached this far. But you were with us, every step of the way.

One of Bukrah Foundation humanitarian programs is providing tents for displaced families.

During our tent distributions, we are often approached by families who share the hardships they face every day — the loss of their homes, the challenges of displacement, and the struggle of daily life.

But this time was different.

Among the tents, we met a group of children. Children who have been deprived of their education after their schools were destroyed by the war, yet they have not lost their dreams.

We asked them: “What do you want to be when you grow up?”

Their answers were far greater than their age. Every child had a dream, and behind every dream was a real story that inspired them to hold on to it. Some dream of becoming doctors to treat the wounded, others hope to become engineers to rebuild what has been destroyed, while others aspire to be teachers, journalists, and leaders of the future.

As I listened to them, I felt a deep ache in my heart. Not because of their dreams, but because children living through such difficult circumstances still have the courage to dream.

In that moment, I became even more certain that Gaza will rise again through the hands of its children, and that its future is still alive in their eyes. But they need people to stand beside them today and help them find a way through this long and difficult journey.
