في زمن تتدفق فيه المعلومات بسرعة، لا تكمن المهارة في الوصول إلى المعلومة فقط، وإنما في التوقف أمامها، وفحصها، وطرح الأسئلة الصحيحة قبل تكوين الرأي أو اتخاذ القرار.
حول هذه الفكرة، نُفذت يوم الاثنين 12 أكتوبر 2026 الورشة التوعوية السادسة والعشرون بعنوان «التفكير النقدي، فحص المعلومات وصناعة القرار»، ضمن أنشطة مشروع «أكاديمية القيادة الشبابية للديمقراطية وحقوق الإنسان»، وذلك في جمعية نادي شباب بيت لاهيا بمحافظة الوسطى، بحضور 22 مشاركًا ومشاركة.
قدّم الورشة المدربان عمر المزين ووسام العمارين، وناقشا مع المشاركين أهمية التفكير النقدي في التعامل مع ما يصل إليهم من معلومات وأخبار ومواقف، وكيفية التمييز بين المعلومة والرأي، وفحص المصادر، وعدم التسرع في تبني الأحكام أو مشاركة المحتوى قبل التحقق منه.
كما تناولت الورشة العلاقة بين جودة المعلومات وجودة القرار، وأهمية طرح الأسئلة، ومقارنة المصادر، والنظر إلى القضايا من أكثر من زاوية قبل الوصول إلى استنتاجات. وركزت النقاشات على دور هذه المهارات في مساعدة الشباب على اتخاذ قرارات أكثر وعيًا ومسؤولية في حياتهم اليومية وفي تفاعلهم مع قضايا مجتمعهم.
وتكتسب هذه المهارات أهمية خاصة في البيئات التي تنتشر فيها المعلومات المتضاربة والشائعات والخطابات المتوترة، حيث يساعد التفكير النقدي الشباب على التعامل معها بوعي، والحد من إعادة نشر المعلومات غير الموثوقة، وتعزيز الحوار القائم على المعرفة والاحترام.
وتأتي الورشة ضمن سلسلة الأنشطة المجتمعية التي ينفذها خريجو برنامج «أكاديمية القيادة الشبابية للديمقراطية وحقوق الإنسان: مواجهة خطاب الكراهية وتعزيز السلم الأهلي في غزة»، لتطبيق المعارف والمهارات التي اكتسبوها خلال التدريب ونقلها إلى مجتمعاتهم المحلية.

In a time when information travels rapidly, the key skill is not simply accessing information, but knowing when to stop, examine it carefully, and ask the right questions before forming an opinion or making a decision.
With this focus, the twenty-sixth community awareness workshop, titled “Critical Thinking, Information Verification and Decision-Making”, was held on Monday, 12 October 2026, as part of the Youth Leadership Academy for Democracy and Human Rights, at Beit Lahia Youth Club Association in the Middle Area, with 22 participants.
The workshop was facilitated by Omar Al-Muzain and Wesam Al-Amrain, who discussed with participants the importance of critical thinking when dealing with information, news, and different viewpoints, including how to distinguish between information and opinion, assess sources, and avoid rushing to judgments or sharing content before verifying it.
The workshop also explored the relationship between the quality of information and the quality of decisions. Participants discussed the importance of asking questions, comparing sources, and examining issues from different perspectives before reaching conclusions. Particular attention was given to how these skills can help young people make more informed and responsible decisions in their daily lives and in their engagement with community issues.
These skills are especially important in environments where conflicting information, rumors, and tense discourse can spread quickly. Critical thinking can help young people engage with such content more carefully, reduce the circulation of unreliable information, and contribute to dialogue based on knowledge and respect.
The workshop forms part of the community activities implemented by graduates of the “Youth Leadership Academy for Democracy and Human Rights: Countering Hate Speech and Promoting Civil Peace in Gaza”, enabling them to apply the knowledge and skills gained during the training within their local communities.

لا يُبنى التماسك الاجتماعي بالشعارات وحدها؛ فهو يظهر في طريقة تعامل الناس مع الاختلاف، وفي قدرتهم على الحفاظ على العلاقات، وفتح مساحات للحوار والمساندة في أوقات الضغط والتحديات.
حول هذه الفكرة، نُفذت يوم الأحد 11 أكتوبر 2026 الورشة التوعوية الخامسة والعشرون بعنوان «التماسك الاجتماعي وسفراء السلم الأهلي»، ضمن أنشطة مشروع «أكاديمية القيادة الشبابية للديمقراطية وحقوق الإنسان»، وذلك في جمعية أميرة لتعليم وتطوير المرأة الفلسطينية في منطقة بطن السمين بمدينة خان يونس، بحضور 25 شخصًا.
قدّم الورشة المدربان أحمد القرا وهديل أبو عاذرة، وناقشا مع المشاركين مفهوم التماسك الاجتماعي وأهميته في الحفاظ على الروابط داخل المجتمع، إلى جانب دور الأفراد، وخصوصًا الشباب، في نشر ثقافة الحوار والاحترام والمساندة المتبادلة.
كما تناولت الورشة مفهوم «سفراء السلم الأهلي» ودور الشباب في المساهمة في تخفيف التوترات، وتعزيز التواصل الإيجابي، وتشجيع التعامل السلمي مع الخلافات والمشكلات المجتمعية، بما يدعم العلاقات بين الأفراد ويعزز الشعور بالمسؤولية تجاه المجتمع.
وتأتي الورشة ضمن سلسلة الأنشطة المجتمعية التي ينفذها خريجو برنامج «أكاديمية القيادة الشبابية للديمقراطية وحقوق الإنسان: مواجهة خطاب الكراهية وتعزيز السلم الأهلي في غزة»، بهدف تطبيق ما اكتسبوه من معارف ومهارات ونقلها إلى مجتمعاتهم المحلية.

Social cohesion is built through everyday relationships: how people respond to differences, maintain connections, and create spaces for dialogue and mutual support during times of pressure and challenge.
With this focus, the twenty-fifth community awareness workshop, titled “Social Cohesion and Ambassadors of Civil Peace”, was held on Sunday, 11 October 2026, as part of the Youth Leadership Academy for Democracy and Human Rights, at Amira Association for the Education and Development of Palestinian Women in Batn Al-Sameen, Khan Younis, with 25 participants.
The workshop was facilitated by Ahmad Al-Qarra and Hadeel Abu Athra, who discussed with participants the concept of social cohesion and its importance in preserving community relationships, as well as the role individuals, particularly young people, can play in promoting dialogue, respect, and mutual support.
The workshop also explored the idea of “Ambassadors of Civil Peace” and the role of youth in helping reduce tensions, strengthen positive communication, and encourage peaceful approaches to disagreements and community problems, contributing to stronger relationships and a greater sense of shared responsibility.

يستمر فريق بال ثينك الشبابي بنشر ثقافة السلم الأهلي والحوار في المجتمع من خلال اللقاءات مع المجموعات الشبابية في مختلف مناطق قطاع غزة، وتبادل النقاشات والآراء حول التحديات التي يواجهها المجتمع في ظل الظروف الراهنة والتي يغلب عليها العنف بكل أشكاله نتيجة الأزمات المتتالية بسبب الحرب على غزة.
وقد نفذ المدربان الشابان، من الفريق، عبدالله العثامنة، امل الزعانين، ورشة توعوية في مدينة غزة، تناولت أهمية التفاهم والتواصل الإيجابي في تعزيز التماسك المجتمعي، ودور الشباب في الحد من النزاعات وتعزيز قيم الاحترام وقبول الآخر مهما اختلفت وجهات النظر. شارك الشباب الحضور في مجموعة من الأنشطة التفاعلية لمناقشة طرق تحويل الحوار إلى أداة للتقارب وبناء الثقة، بما يعزز قدراتهم على المساهمة في إحداث التغيير الإيجابي المطلوب داخل المجتمع.
وتأتي هذه الورشة ضمن جهود بال ثينك التي تهدف الى تمكين الشباب وتوفير مساحات آمنة للحوار والنقاش وتشجيعهم على استخدام أساليب سلمية في التعامل مع الخلافات والنزاعات، بما يعزز ثقافة المشاركة والمسؤولية المجتمعية.
يتم تنفيذ هذه اللقاءات ضمن أنشطة برنامج "إعادة بناء السلم الأهلي وحل النزاعات في غزة" والذي تنفذه بال ثينك للدراسات الاستراتيجية بالشراكة مع الصندوق الوطني للديمقراطية NED.

Pal-Think Youth Team continues to promote a culture of civil peace and dialogue within the community through meetings with youth groups across different areas of the Gaza Strip, providing spaces for discussion and exchange of views on the challenges facing the community under the current circumstances, which have been marked by widespread violence in its various forms as a result of the crises caused by the war on Gaza.
As part of these efforts, two young trainers from the team, Abdullah Al-Athamna and Amal Al-Zaanin, conducted an awareness-raising workshop in Gaza City. The workshop addressed the importance of understanding and positive communication in strengthening social cohesion, as well as the role of young people in preventing conflicts and promoting values of respect and acceptance of others, regardless of differences in perspectives. The participating youth engaged in interactive activities to discuss ways of transforming dialogue into a tool for bringing people closer together and building trust, thereby strengthening their capacity to contribute to the positive change needed within the community.
The workshop is part of Pal-Think’s efforts to empower young people, provide safe spaces for dialogue and discussion, and encourage them to adopt peaceful approaches to address disagreements and conflicts, thereby strengthening a culture of participation and social responsibility.
These meetings are being implemented as part of the activities of the program “Advancing Civil Peace and Conflict Resolution within the Gaza Strip” implemented by Pal-Think for Strategic Studies in partnership with the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).

إصدار جديد من بال ثينك للدراسات الاستراتيجية بعنوان: من البقاء إلى التعافي بكرامة: أولويات سياساتية لتحسين الظروف المعيشية في قطاع غزة
الكرامة الإنسانية تشمل قدرة الناس على العيش بأمان، وتلبية احتياجاتهم الأساسية دون إذلال أو استغلال، والوصول إلى الخدمات الأساسية، والحفاظ على حد أدنى من الأمان الاقتصادي، والمشاركة في القرارات التي تؤثر في حياتهم. وتشمل الكرامة الإنسانية المأوى الآمن، والغذاء والمياه الكافيين، والرعاية الصحية، والتعليم، والحماية، وسبل العيش، والمشاركة المجتمعية.
وتتمثل المعضلة السياساتية الرئيسية في كيفية الانتقال من استجابة صُممت بالأساس لإبقاء الناس على قيد الحياة إلى نموذج للتعافي يعيد توفير شروط الحياة الكريمة. ولا يزال قطاع غزة بحاجة إلى مساعدات إنسانية عاجلة، إلا أن المساعدات الإنسانية وحدها لا تستطيع إعادة بناء الخدمات العامة أو استعادة سبل العيش أو الحد من الاعتماد طويل الأمد على المساعدات. ومن ثم يتطلب التعافي نهجاً متكاملاً يربط بين الاستجابة الطارئة وإعادة التأهيل والحماية الاجتماعية والتعافي الاقتصادي المحلي وإعادة الإعمار.
تحلل هذه الورقة أبرز الظروف المعيشية التي تؤثر في الكرامة الإنسانية في قطاع غزة، وتقترح مجموعة من الأولويات السياساتية للتعافي. وتقوم حجتها الأساسية على أن تحسين الظروف المعيشية يتطلب انتقالاً تدريجياً من نموذج "مساعدات البقاء" إلى نموذج "التعافي من أجل حياة كريمة"، مع الاستمرار في تقديم المساعدات المنقذة للحياة ما دامت الحاجة إليها قائمة.

New Publication by Pal-Think for Strategic Studies: From Survival to Dignified Recovery: Policy Priorities for Improving Living Conditions in the Gaza Strip
Human dignity includes the ability of people to live safely, meet essential needs without humiliation or exploitation, access basic services, maintain a minimum level of economic security, and participate in decisions that affect their lives. It therefore includes safe shelter, sufficient food and water, health care, education, protection, livelihoods and social participation.
The main policy challenge is how to move from a response mainly designed to keep people alive toward a recovery model that restores the conditions for a dignified life. Gaza needs immediate humanitarian assistance, but humanitarian aid alone cannot rebuild public services, restore livelihoods or reduce long-term dependency. Recovery therefore requires an integrated approach that connects emergency response with rehabilitation, social protection, local economic recovery and reconstruction.
This policy working paper analyses the main living conditions affecting human dignity in Gaza and proposes a set of policy priorities for recovery. Its central argument is that improving living conditions requires a gradual shift from a “survival aid” model to a “recovery for a dignified life” model, while maintaining life-saving assistance for as long as it remains necessary.
This paper is published as part of the project “From Survival to Civic Engagement: Empowering Youth in Gaza” implemented by Pal-Think for Strategic Studies in partnership with Atlas Network.

أحيانًا يبدأ تعزيز السلم الأهلي من مساحة للحوار؛ يجلس فيها الشباب مع ممثلي مجتمعهم، يطرحون أسئلتهم وتطلعاتهم، ويستمع كل طرف إلى الآخر بحثًا عن حلول تقوم على الحوار والتفاهم والمسؤولية المشتركة.
ضمن هذا الإطار، نُفذت يوم السبت 26 سبتمبر 2026 المبادرة الشبابية السادسة بعنوان «رمل واحد – حوار يجمعنا»، بمشاركة عضوي المجلس البلدي الأستاذة فاتن حرب والأستاذ زين الدين أبو معيلق، في جلسة حوارية جمعت الشباب بممثلين عن المستوى المحلي لمناقشة قضاياهم وتطلعاتهم ومستقبلهم، ودور الحوار والأساليب السلمية في التعامل مع المشكلات المجتمعية.

وشكّلت مشاركة الأستاذة فاتن حرب جانبًا مهمًا من الحوار، بصفتها مختارة وشخصية نسوية فاعلة في المجتمع المحلي، حيث تناولت تجربتها في التعامل مع المشكلات المجتمعية والمساهمة في الإصلاح وحل الخلافات بين العائلات، خاصة في ظل الضغوط والمشكلات التي شهدها المجتمع خلال الحرب.

ومن جانبه، تحدث الأستاذ زين الدين أبو معيلق، عضو المجلس البلدي، عن أهمية دور الشباب وضرورة تعزيز ثقتهم بأنفسهم وعدم الاستسلام أمام التحديات، والاستمرار في المحاولة والعمل والمبادرة. كما أكد أهمية أن يكون للشباب حضور حقيقي داخل المجالس والهيئات المحلية، وأن تتاح لهم المساحة للتعبير عن آرائهم والمشاركة في صناعة القرار، باعتبارهم جزءًا أساسيًا من حاضر المجتمع ومستقبله.

وأتاح الحوار للشباب فرصة لطرح آرائهم وأسئلتهم ومناقشة عدد من القضايا التي ترتبط بحياتهم ومجتمعاتهم مباشرة، إلى جانب الاستماع إلى تجارب ممثلي المجتمع المحلي في التعامل مع التحديات، وحل المشكلات، وتعزيز التواصل بين المواطنين والمؤسسات المحلية.
كما سلطت الجلسة الضوء على أهمية الحوار المباشر بين الشباب والممثلين المحليين، ودور المشاركة المجتمعية والاستماع إلى مختلف الآراء في بناء الثقة، ومعالجة الخلافات بالطرق السلمية، وتعزيز التماسك والسلم الأهلي على المستوى المحلي.

ومن خلال «رمل واحد – حوار يجمعنا»، سعت المبادرة إلى توفير مساحة يكون فيها الشباب طرفًا فاعلًا في النقاش حول القضايا التي تمس حياتهم ومستقبلهم، وتعزيز التواصل بينهم وبين ممثلي المؤسسات المحلية.
تأتي المبادرة ضمن الأنشطة الشبابية التي يصممها وينفذها خريجو برنامج «أكاديمية القيادة الشبابية للديمقراطية وحقوق الإنسان: مواجهة خطاب الكراهية وتعزيز السلم الأهلي في غزة»، لتطبيق ما اكتسبوه من معارف ومهارات من خلال مبادرات تستجيب لقضايا واحتياجات مجتمعاتهم المحلية.

Strengthening civil peace can begin with a space for dialogue, where young people sit together with representatives of their communities, share their questions and aspirations, and listen to one another in search of solutions based on dialogue, understanding, and shared responsibility.
Within this framework, the sixth youth-led initiative, “One Sand – Dialogue Brings Us Together”, was held on Saturday, 26 September 2026, with the participation of municipal council members Faten Harb and Zain Al-Din Abu Muailiq. The dialogue session brought young people together with local representatives to discuss youth concerns, aspirations, and their future, as well as the role of dialogue and peaceful approaches in addressing community challenges.

Faten Harb contributed to the discussion through her experience as a Mukhtara and an active female community leader, sharing insights into addressing community problems, supporting reconciliation, and resolving disputes between families, particularly amid the pressures and challenges experienced during the war.

Zain Al-Din Abu Muailiq, a municipal council member, focused on the role of young people and the importance of maintaining confidence in their abilities, continuing to work and take initiative, and not giving up when facing challenges. He also emphasized the importance of meaningful youth representation in local councils and institutions and of creating space for young people to express their views and participate in decision-making, recognizing them as an essential part of both the present and future of their communities.

The dialogue provided young people with an opportunity to raise questions, express their perspectives, and discuss issues directly affecting their lives and communities, while also learning from the experiences of local representatives in addressing challenges, resolving community problems, and strengthening communication between citizens and local institutions.
The session also highlighted the value of direct dialogue between young people and local representatives, as well as the role of community participation and listening to different perspectives in building trust, addressing disagreements peacefully, and strengthening social cohesion and civil peace at the local level.

Through “One Sand – Dialogue Brings Us Together”, the initiative sought to create a space where young people could actively engage in discussions on issues affecting their lives and future and strengthen communication with representatives of local institutions.

The initiative forms part of the youth-led activities designed and implemented by graduates of the “Youth Leadership Academy for Democracy and Human Rights: Countering Hate Speech and Promoting Civil Peace in Gaza”, enabling them to apply the knowledge and skills gained during their training through initiatives responding to issues and needs within their local communities.

كيف كان أهلنا يحلّون خلافاتهم؟ وما الذي يمكن أن نتعلّمه اليوم من تجاربهم في الإصلاح والحفاظ على العلاقات بين الناس؟ من هذين السؤالين، انطلقت مبادرة «جذور» لتفتح مساحة يلتقي فيها الشباب بالخبرة المجتمعية، ويستكشفوا معًا دور الحوار والحلول السلمية في تعزيز التفاهم والتماسك المجتمعي.

نُفذت يوم الأربعاء 23 سبتمبر 2026 المبادرة الشبابية الخامسة بعنوان «جذور لإحياء التراث وتعزيز السلم الأهلي»، في قاعة ساق الله بالنصيرات، بحضور 25 مشاركًا ومشاركة. ونفّذ المبادرة فريق ضمّ جنين شحادة وحازم الهلول ويارا الغرباوي.

استضافت المبادرة المختار أبو صبري أبو رحمة، الذي تحدث عن دور المخاتير في معالجة النزاعات والمشكلات المجتمعية، والآليات التي يعتمدونها للوصول إلى حلول سلمية. وأتاح اللقاء فرصة للحوار حول أهمية الاستفادة من الخبرات المجتمعية في التعامل مع الخلافات، والحفاظ على العلاقات بين الأفراد وتعزيز السلم الأهلي في قطاع غزة.

وشهد اللقاء نقاشات وتفاعلًا من المشاركين، الذين شاركوا آراءهم وملاحظاتهم حول التجربة كتابةً. كما تلقّى فريق المبادرة بعد اللقاء رسائل عبّر فيها عدد من الحضور عن امتنانهم وسعادتهم بالمشاركة، وأبدوا اهتمامًا بالحصول على تدريب في إعداد المدربين والمدربات.

وتسلّط مبادرة «جذور» الضوء على أهمية الاستفادة من الخبرات المجتمعية المتوارثة، وفتح مساحات للحوار بين الأجيال حول أساليب حل النزاعات وتعزيز التفاهم والتماسك المجتمعي.

How did earlier generations resolve their disputes, and what can we learn today from their experiences in reconciliation and preserving community relationships? These questions inspired “Roots”, a youth-led initiative that brings young people together with community experience to explore the role of dialogue and peaceful solutions in strengthening mutual understanding and social cohesion.

The fifth youth-led initiative, “Roots: Reviving Heritage and Promoting Civil Peace”, was held on Wednesday, 23 September 2026, at Saq Allah Hall in Nuseirat, with 25 participants. The initiative was implemented by Janin Shahada, Hazem Al-Halloul, and Yara Al-Gharbawi.

The initiative hosted Mukhtar Abu Sabri Abu Rahma, who spoke about the role of community elders in addressing disputes and social problems, and the approaches they use to reach peaceful solutions. The gathering provided an opportunity to discuss how community experience can help resolve disagreements, preserve relationships, and promote civil peace in the Gaza Strip.

Participants actively engaged in the discussions and shared written feedback on their experience. Following the gathering, the initiative team also received messages from attendees expressing their appreciation and happiness with the experience. Some participants expressed interest in taking part in future training-of-trainers opportunities.

The “Roots” initiative highlights the value of drawing on inherited community experience and creating spaces for dialogue across generations on peaceful conflict resolution, mutual understanding, and social cohesion.

The initiative forms part of the youth-led activities designed and implemented by graduates of the “Youth Leadership Academy for Democracy and Human Rights: Countering Hate Speech and Promoting Civil Peace in Gaza”, enabling them to apply the knowledge and skills gained during their training through initiatives addressing issues affecting their local communities.

The program is implemented by PalThink for Strategic Studies, supported by the German Federal Foreign Office’s funds through ifa’s Funding Programme zivik.

بال ثينك تطلق سلسلة ورشات توعوية مجتمعية حول "بناء السلم الأهلي وحل النزاعات في غزة"
أطلقت بال ثينك للدراسات الإستراتيجية ، أولى الورشات التوعوية ضمن أنشطة برنامج "إعادة بناء السلم الأهلي وحل النزاعات في غزة" والذي تنفذه بالشراكة مع الصندوق الوطني للديمقراطية NED، بهدف تعزيز دور الشباب في بناء جسور التواصل والحوار، وترسيخ قيم السلم الأهلي والتفاهم وقبول الآخر.
حيث يقوم فريق شبابي بتنفيذ وقيادة تلك الورشات واللقاءات التوعوية، والذين بدورهم شاركوا في برنامج تدريبي متخصص حول السلم الأهلي نفذته بال ثينك، تلقوا خلاله معارف ومهارات في مجالات الحوار، وإدارة الاختلاف، وحل النزاعات، والتواصل المجتمعي، وتعزيز التماسك والسلم الأهلي. وتأتي مشاركتهم في تنفيذ الورشات كخطوة عملية تتيح لهم توظيف ما اكتسبوه من خبرات، ونقلها إلى أقرانهم ومجتمعهم المحلي.
وقد جاء اللقاء التوعوي الأول بعنوان "بناء الجسور وتعزيز السلم الأهلي: دور الشباب في التغيير"، وذلك في مقر اللجنة الشعبية للاجئين – البريج، بمشاركة 20 شابًا وشابة، وبإشراف المدربين الشبابين هادي عقل وسلسبيل البحيصي.
وركزت الورشة على أهمية تعزيز دور الشباب باعتبارهم فاعلًا أساسيًا في بناء مجتمع أكثر تماسكًا وقدرة على مواجهة الأزمات والتحديات، وتشجيع الشباب على المشاركة الإيجابية في القضايا المجتمعية. كما تناول اللقاء مجموعة من المحاور حول الشباب وصناعة التغيير، دور الشباب في الحد من النزاعات، المبادرة والمسؤولية المجتمعية
وتستمر سلسلة الورشات هذه في كل مناطق قطاع غزة لتوفير مساحات شبابية تفاعلية لمناقشة القضايا المرتبطة بالسلم الأهلي، وتعزيز قدرات الشباب على التعامل الإيجابي مع الاختلافات والتحديات المجتمعية، وتشجيعهم على المشاركة في صناعة التغيير وتحدي الأزمات الناتجة عن الحرب على غزة والمساهمة في التعافي منها .كما تسعى الورشات إلى الانتقال بالشباب من دور المتلقي للمعرفة إلى دور الفاعل والمبادر، من خلال منحهم الفرصة لتصميم وتنفيذ جلسات حوارية ومجتمعية، بما يدعم دورهم كفاعلين في نشر ثقافة الحوار والتسامح والتماسك المجتمعي.

Pal-Think Launches a Series of Awareness Workshops on “Building Social Peace and Conflict Resolution in Gaza”
Pal-Think for Strategic Studies has launched the first of a series of awareness workshops as part of the “Advancing Civil Peace and Conflict Resolution within the Gaza Strip” Program, implemented in partnership with the National Endowment for Democracy (NED). The program aims to strengthen the role of young people in building bridges of communication and dialogue, and in promoting the values of social peace, mutual understanding, and acceptance of others.
The workshops are being led and facilitated by a youth team whose members previously participated in a specialized training program on social peace delivered by Pal-Think. Through this program, the young participants acquired knowledge and skills in dialogue, managing differences, conflict resolution, community communication, and promoting social cohesion and peace. Their involvement in delivering the workshops represents a practical step that enables them to apply the knowledge and skills they gained and share them with their peers and local communities.
The first awareness session was entitled “Building Bridges and Promoting Social Peace: The Role of Youth in Change.” It was held at the Popular Committee for Refugees in Al-Bureij, with the participation of 20 young men and women, and was facilitated by youth trainers Hadi Aql and Salsabil Al-Buhaisi.
The workshop focused on the importance of strengthening the role of youth as key actors in building a more cohesive society capable of responding to crises and challenges, while encouraging young people to engage positively in community issues. The session also addressed several key themes, including youth and social change, the role of youth in preventing and addressing conflicts, and youth initiative and social responsibility.
The series of workshops will continue across different areas of the Gaza Strip, providing interactive spaces for young people to discuss issues related to social peace and strengthening their capacity to positively engage with differences and community challenges. The workshops also aim to encourage youth participation in creating change, addressing the challenges resulting from the war in Gaza, and contributing to community recovery.
Furthermore, the workshops seek to move young people from being recipients of knowledge to active participants and initiators, by providing them with opportunities to design and facilitate dialogue and community sessions. This approach aims to strengthen their role as community actors in promoting a culture of dialogue, tolerance, and social cohesion.

قد تبدأ الخلافات بكلمة، وقد تتسع عندما يحل التعصب محل الحوار. وفي ظل الظروف الصعبة التي يعيشها المجتمع في قطاع غزة، تزداد أهمية الوعي بأشكال العنف وخطاب الكراهية وسبل مواجهتهما، حفاظًا على العلاقات الإنسانية والتماسك المجتمعي.

في هذا السياق، نُفذت يوم الثلاثاء 22 سبتمبر 2026 الورشة المجتمعية الرابعة والعشرون بعنوان "مواجهة العنف وخطاب الكراهية"، في مركز البرامج النسائية بمدينة غزة، بحضور 26 شابًا وشابة، منهم 16 شابة و10 شباب.

قدّم الورشة المتدربان يوسف أبو ركبة وخميس اليازجي، وناقشا مع المشاركين أشكال العنف وخطاب الكراهية وتأثيرهما على العلاقات بين الأفراد، وأهمية الانتباه إلى الكلمات والسلوكيات التي قد تزيد التوتر أو تشجع على الإقصاء والتعصب.

وتناولت الورشة دور الحوار والإصغاء واحترام الاختلاف في التعامل مع الخلافات بصورة سلمية، وأهمية تعزيز ثقافة التسامح والمسؤولية المشتركة. كما ركزت على دور الشباب في نشر خطاب يحترم الكرامة الإنسانية ويسهم في حماية الروابط المجتمعية وتعزيز السلم الأهلي.

وتأتي الورشة ضمن سلسلة الأنشطة المجتمعية التي ينفذها خريجو برنامج «أكاديمية القيادة الشبابية للديمقراطية وحقوق الإنسان: مواجهة خطاب الكراهية وتعزيز السلم الأهلي في غزة»، لنقل المعارف والمهارات التي اكتسبوها خلال التدريب إلى مجتمعاتهم المحلية.

A disagreement can begin with a single word and grow when intolerance takes the place of dialogue. Amid the difficult circumstances facing communities in the Gaza Strip, recognizing and addressing violence and hate speech is increasingly important for preserving human connections and social cohesion.

In this context, the twenty-fourth community workshop, titled “Countering Violence and Hate Speech”, was held on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, at the Women’s Programs Center in Gaza City, with the participation of 26 young men and women, including 16 young women and 10 young men.

The workshop was facilitated by trainees Yousef Abu Rukba and Khamis Al-Yazji, who discussed with participants different forms of violence and hate speech, their impact on interpersonal relationships, and the importance of recognizing words and behaviors that may heighten tensions or encourage exclusion and intolerance.

The workshop also explored the role of dialogue, active listening, and respect for differences in addressing disagreements peacefully, alongside the importance of tolerance and shared responsibility. It highlighted the role of young people in promoting communication that respects human dignity, preserves community connections, and supports civil peace.

The workshop forms part of the community activities implemented by graduates of the “Youth Leadership Academy for Democracy and Human Rights: Countering Hate Speech and Promoting Civil Peace in Gaza”, enabling them to share the knowledge and skills gained during their training with their local communities.
