Society Voice Continues Its Activities and Holds a Session on the Risks of Cyber Blackmail.

Society Voice Foundation organized a discussion session titled “Cyber Blackmail and Its Impact on Displaced Families” at Hayat Camp in Al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis, with the participation of more than 23 women.

The session aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of cyber blackmail and methods of prevention.

The session was opened by Ms. Samar Alyan, who introduced the foundation’s role and its community programs and activities. She emphasized that cyber blackmail is among the most dangerous modern crimes, particularly when targeting displaced families living under difficult psychological, social, and economic conditions.

Participants discussed the psychological and social impacts of cyber blackmail, including fear, anxiety, and family disintegration, in addition to financial exploitation that further deepens the suffering of displaced families amid harsh humanitarian conditions.

The session concluded by stressing the importance of refusing to respond to blackmailers, preserving evidence, promptly reporting incidents to the relevant authorities, and enhancing family awareness about the risks associated with unsafe use of technology and social media platforms.

وافتتحت أ. سمر عليان اللقاء بالتعريف بدور المؤسسة وبرامجها المجتمعية، مؤكدةً أن الابتزاز الإلكتروني من أخطر الجرائم الحديثة، خاصة مع استهداف الأسر النازحة التي تعيش ظروفًا نفسية واجتماعية واقتصادية صعبة.

وناقشت المشاركات الآثار النفسية والاجتماعية الناتجة عن الابتزاز، مثل الخوف والقلق والتفكك الأسري، إضافة إلى الاستغلال المادي الذي يزيد من معاناة النازحين في ظل أوضاعهم الإنسانية الصعبة.

واختُتم اللقاء بالتأكيد على أهمية عدم الاستجابة للمبتز، وحفظ الأدلة، والإبلاغ الفوري للجهات المختصة، إلى جانب تعزيز التوعية الأسرية بمخاطر الاستخدام غير الآمن للتكنولوجيا ووسائل التواصل الاجتماعي.

Society Voice holds a discussion on online blackmail against girls

The Society Voice Foundation organized a dialogue session at Hayat Camp for displaced persons in the Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis, with the participation of more than 30 women, to discuss the risks of online blackmail and its impact on girls.

The session was opened by Ms. Samar Alian, who highlighted the organization’s role in promoting community awareness and defined online blackmail as a serious digital crime targeting girls and women through the exploitation of personal photos and information for threats and coercion.

Participants discussed the main factors leading to vulnerability to blackmail, including limited digital awareness, online relationships, and insufficient account security, in addition to the psychological and social consequences that may lead to isolation and family disintegration.

The session concluded with a set of key recommendations, including strengthening digital protection for women and girls, refusing to comply with blackmailers, preserving evidence, and promptly reporting incidents to the relevant authorities.

وافتتحت اللقاء السيدة سمر عليان، حيث استعرضت دور المؤسسة في تعزيز الوعي المجتمعي، وعرّفت الابتزاز الإلكتروني بأنه جريمة رقمية خطيرة تستهدف الفتيات والنساء من خلال استغلال الصور والمعلومات الشخصية للتهديد والإكراه.

وناقشت المشاركات أبرز أسباب الوقوع في الابتزاز، بما في ذلك ضعف الوعي الرقمي، والعلاقات عبر الإنترنت، وعدم تأمين الحسابات بشكل كافٍ، إضافة إلى الآثار النفسية والاجتماعية التي قد تصل إلى العزلة والتفكك الأسري.

Al-Nuseirat – Society Voice Foundation conducted an awareness session titled “The Role of Women and Girls in Addressing Digital Violence,” targeting 60 female students at an UNRWA-affiliated educational center.

The session was facilitated by media professional Abeer Al-Kharti, who welcomed participants and underscored the significance of the organization’s programs and initiatives in fostering awareness across diverse community groups.

Throughout the session, Al-Kharti provided a comprehensive overview of digital violence, highlighting its various forms, including online blackmail, cyberbullying, and breaches of privacy. She also equipped the participants with essential digital safety skills, particularly in securing personal accounts and safeguarding sensitive information, while emphasizing the critical importance of reporting violations and refusing to remain silent.

The session saw active engagement from the students, who recommended scaling up such initiatives and integrating digital safety practices into their daily lives to ensure a safer online environment.

وقد أدارت الجلسة الإعلامية عبير الخرطي، حيث رحبت بالمشاركات وأكدت على أهمية البرامج والمبادرات التي تنفذها المؤسسة في تعزيز الوعي لدى مختلف فئات المجتمع.

وخلال الجلسة، قدّمت الخرطي شرحًا شاملاً لمفهوم العنف الرقمي، موضحة أبرز أشكاله مثل الابتزاز الإلكتروني، والتنمر، وانتهاك الخصوصية. كما عملت على تزويد الطالبات بمهارات أساسية في الأمان الرقمي، خاصة ما يتعلق بحماية الحسابات الشخصية وتأمين المعلومات الحساسة، مع التأكيد على ضرورة الإبلاغ عن أي انتهاكات وعدم التزام الصمت.

Society Voice Foundation implemented a specialized psychosocial support session for women and girls at an IDP shelter in Al-Nuseirat, engaging 25 displaced female participants.
This intervention comes as part of the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to promote mental health and psychosocial well-being among vulnerable groups. The session was facilitated by Abeir Nafeth Al-Kharati, who underscored the vital role of women’s mental health as a pillar of family resilience.
The session featured an emotional expression segment, offering participants a safe and supportive space to share daily stressors within an atmosphere of trust and collective solidarity.
In addition, the “Sources of Strength” activity focused on identifying and reinforcing participants’ inner resilience and self-worth.
The session led to a tangible improvement in the psychological well-being of participants, strengthened social cohesion, and heightened awareness of the importance of mental health in times of crisis.

جاءت الجلسة ضمن جهود المؤسسة لتعزيز الصحة النفسية والاجتماعية، حيث افتتحتها الميسرة عبير نافذ الخرطي بالتأكيد على أهمية الدعم النفسي للمرأة باعتبارها ركيزة أساسية لصمود الأسرة.
وتضمنت الجلسة فقرة للتفريغ الانفعالي، أتاحت للمشاركات التعبير عن الضغوط اليومية، في أجواء من الثقة والتفاعل الجماعي.

Society Voice Foundation organized an awareness session for girls at an UNRWA-run displacement shelter in Al-Nuseirat, targeting more than 35 participants, as part of its ongoing efforts to support and empower young women.
The session was opened by facilitator Abeer Al-Kharouti, who welcomed the participants and highlighted the foundation’s role in delivering awareness activities that target various segments of society, particularly under the current humanitarian conditions.
The session aimed to enhance girls’ awareness of women’s roles in public and social participation, while emphasizing the importance of empowering women to actively contribute to community development.
It also addressed the challenges girls face amid displacement, where participants shared their personal experiences. The discussion stressed the importance of education as a key tool for resilience and achieving aspirations.
The session included interactive discussions through which the girls expressed their appreciation for Palestinian women. It concluded in a positive atmosphere that strengthened self-confidence and encouraged participants to engage in community work and drive change.

افتتحت الميسّرة عبير الخرطي الجلسة بالترحيب بالمشاركات، مستعرضةً دور المؤسسة في تنفيذ الأنشطة التوعوية التي تستهدف مختلف شرائح المجتمع، خاصة في ظل الظروف الإنسانية الراهنة.

وهدفت الجلسة إلى تعزيز وعي الفتيات بدور المرأة في المشاركة العامة والاجتماعية، وتسليط الضوء على أهمية تمكينها للإسهام الفاعل في بناء المجتمع.

كما ركّزت الجلسة على التحديات التي تواجه الفتيات في ظل النزوح، حيث شاركت المشاركات تجاربهن، مع التأكيد على أهمية التعليم كوسيلة للصمود وتحقيق الطموح.

Society Voice Foundation organized a dialogue session titled “Domestic Violence in Displacement Camps” at Hayat Camp for displaced people in Al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis, with the participation of more than 28 women.
The session was opened by Ms. Samar Alyan, who welcomed the participants and introduced the foundation’s role, programs, and activities aimed at raising community awareness across different groups. She also presented the concept of violence against women, its various forms, and its negative impact on families and social cohesion.
Alyan highlighted that the ongoing displacement and living conditions in shelters lacking basic humanitarian standards have exposed many women to multiple forms of violence, including physical, psychological, sexual, and social abuse.
Participants discussed the main drivers of violence, linking them to harsh living conditions such as repeated displacement, the loss of the provider’s traditional role in income and protection, lack of privacy, overcrowded shelters, deteriorating economic conditions, and the absence of decent job opportunities.
The session also featured real-life stories reflecting the scale of challenges women face under these difficult circumstances.
The meeting concluded with several recommendations, most notably the need to end the war, ensure the provision of essential needs for displaced families, and create a safe environment that preserves human dignity.

افتتحت اللقاء أ. سمر عليان مرحبةً بالمشاركات، وقدّمت تعريفًا بدور المؤسسة وبرامجها وأنشطتها التي تهدف إلى تعزيز الوعي المجتمعي لدى مختلف الفئات. كما استعرضت مفهوم العنف ضد المرأة، وأشكاله المتعددة، وتأثيراته السلبية على الأسرة والسلم المجتمعي.

وأوضحت عليان أن استمرار النزوح والتشرد داخل مراكز إيواء تفتقر إلى الحد الأدنى من المقومات الإنسانية، ساهم في تعرّض العديد من النساء لأشكال مختلفة من العنف، سواء الجسدي أو النفسي أو الجنسي أو الاجتماعي.

من جانبهن، ناقشت المشاركات أبرز أسباب تفشي العنف، والتي ترتبط بالظروف المعيشية الصعبة، مثل النزوح المتكرر، وفقدان المعيل لدوره الطبيعي في الإعالة والحماية، إلى جانب غياب الخصوصية، وضيق المساحات داخل مراكز الإيواء، وتدهور الأوضاع الاقتصادية وانعدام فرص العمل.

كما تطرّق اللقاء إلى قصص وتجارب حية عكست حجم التحديات التي تواجهها النساء في ظل هذه الظروف القاسية.

واختُتم اللقاء بجملة من التوصيات، أبرزها ضرورة وقف الحرب، والعمل على توفير الاحتياجات الأساسية للأسر النازحة، وضمان بيئة آمنة تحفظ كرامة الإنسان.

S V F organized an emotional release and psychosocial support session for forcibly displaced children at a UNRWA shelter center in Nuseirat Camp, with the participation of 22 children.

The session was opened by facilitator Abeer Al-Kharti, who led a series of interactive ice-breaking activities aimed at building trust and encouraging positive interaction among the children.

This was followed by organized physical activities and intelligence games that helped enhance attention, concentration, and teamwork.

The session also included a number of interactive and humorous questions that created an atmosphere of joy and laughter among the children, contributing to alleviating the psychological stress they experience in overcrowded shelter centers.

The session concluded with enthusiastic requests from the children for more activities and interactive gatherings that provide opportunities for recreation and emotional relief.

وافتتحت الميسّرة عبير الخرطي الجلسة بتنفيذ مجموعة من الأنشطة التفاعلية لكسر الجمود، هدفت إلى بناء الثقة وتشجيع التفاعل الإيجابي بين الأطفال. وتبع ذلك تنفيذ أنشطة حركية منظمة وألعاب تنمّي الذكاء، ساهمت في تعزيز الانتباه والتركيز والعمل الجماعي.

Society Voice Foundation held a dialogue titled “The Role of Media in Supporting the Rights of Displaced Women” in the Al-Mawasi area, western Khan Younis.

The session was opened by Samar Alyan, who welcomed the participants and introduced the foundation’s current community programs and activities, emphasizing the vital role of media in supporting women, especially those affected by displacement and crises.

Alyan highlighted that media plays a strategic role in promoting women’s rights by challenging negative stereotypes, breaking traditional norms, showcasing the achievements of inspiring and pioneering women, and combating gender-based violence. She also stressed the importance of media advocacy in calling for legislative reforms that address women’s rights and the challenges they face.

Participants discussed the media’s role in facilitating women’s and displaced women’s access to community, political, and economic leadership positions, as well as raising awareness of their legal and social rights.

This includes promoting women-led initiatives and positive content that helps combat violence, exploitation, and discrimination, thereby enhancing Community Participation.

وافتتحت سمر عليان اللقاء بالترحيب بالمشاركات والتعريف بالبرامج والأنشطة المجتمعية الحالية للمؤسسة، مشددة على الدور الحيوي للإعلام في دعم النساء، لا سيما المتضررات من النزوح والأزمات.

وأوضحت عليان أن للإعلام دورًا استراتيجيًا في تعزيز حقوق النساء من خلال مواجهة الصور النمطية السلبية، وكسر القوالب التقليدية، وتسليط الضوء على إنجازات النساء الملهمات والرياديات، بالإضافة إلى مكافحة العنف القائم على النوع الاجتماعي. كما أكدت على أهمية مساهمة الإعلام في المناصرة والدعوة لتطوير التشريعات بما يتوافق مع حقوق النساء والتحديات التي تواجههن.

Society Voice Foundation Conducts an Awareness Session for Women in Nuseirat

S V F conducted a specialized awareness session on 1325 and the importance of strengthening it during times of conflict and crisis, with the participation of 26 women and interested attendees.

The session was held at a displacement shelter affiliated with UNRWA in Nuseirat Camp.

The session was facilitated by Abeer Al-Kharti, who opened the meeting by introducing the foundation’s current activities and programs.

Al-Kharti delivered an interactive presentation addressing the key pillars of the resolution, most notably: women’s participation in decision-making, the protection of women and girls in contexts of conflict and displacement, the prevention of violence and the promotion of women’s roles in mediation, in addition to relief and recovery efforts, and the role of women in managing shelters and post-conflict reconstruction.

The session witnessed notable engagement from participants, as discussions revealed a knowledge gap related to such resolutions, underscoring the need to intensify efforts in legal and rights-based awareness.

Al-Kharti also emphasized the importance of linking the provisions of Resolution 1325 to the lived realities of displaced women in shelters, stressing that women’s contributions to organizing family and local community affairs constitute an integral part of peacebuilding and recovery
pathways.

At the conclusion of the session, participants recommended ensuring the continuity of such awareness activities and expanding them to include young women and girls, alongside increasing psychosocial support sessions in parallel with rights-based awareness, in order to mitigate the impacts of displacement and strengthen women’s resilience.
