Shepherd Society Who are we? Established in 1996 in Bethlehem, the charitable arm of Bethlehem Bible College assists Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza, with basic needs.

Our mission is to reach out to needy people by providing material and social support.

تتقدم جمعية الراعي/كلية بيت لحم للكتاب المقدس بأسمى آيات التهنئة والتبريك إلى سيادة المطران ألكسيوس، والأرشمندريت الجليل الأب سيلاس، بمناسبة منحهما أوسمة الشرف من الجمهورية اليونانية، تقديرًا لخدمتهما المخلصة وتفانيهما في خدمة الكنيسة والإنسان، ولا سيما في ظل الظروف الصعبة التي يعيشها أبناء الأرض المقدسة.

ويأتي هذا التكريم أيضًا في إطار العلاقة المتينة والتعاون المستمر بين الكنيسة الأرثوذكسية في غزة وجمعية الراعي طوال فترة الحرب، حيث تجسدت قيم المحبة المسيحية والخدمة المتواضعة من خلال الوقوف إلى جانب المتألمين والمحتاجين، وتقديم الدعم الروحي والإنساني في أصعب الظروف.
وتصلي المؤسستان أن يبارك الرب خدمتهما، ويمنحهما القوة والحكمة لمواصلة رسالتهما المباركة في خدمة الكنيسة والمجتمع.

On the occasion of World Children’s Day, which was marked on June 1st, Shepherd Society organized a special activity for children to celebrate childhood and reaffirm their right to education, protection, and a life of dignity.

We believe that every child deserves to grow up in a safe and loving environment, to dream freely, and to look forward to a better future. During this activity, children shared moments of joy and creativity, reminding us that childhood is a right that must always be protected.
💙 Every child deserves a safe childhood and a hopeful future.

بمناسبة يوم الطفل العالمي الذي صادف في الأول من حزيران، نظّمت جمعية الراعي نشاطًا خاصًا للأطفال للاحتفال بطفولتهم والتأكيد على حقوقهم في التعليم والحماية والعيش بكرامة.

نؤمن أن كل طفل يستحق أن ينمو في بيئة آمنة ومحبة، وأن يحلم بمستقبل أفضل. وقد شارك الأطفال خلال هذا النشاط لحظات من الفرح والإبداع، في رسالة تؤكد أن الطفولة حق يجب أن يُصان دائمًا.

وقّعت جمعية الراعي/ كلية بيت لحم للكتاب المقدس بالشراكة مع النادي الأرثوذكسي اتفاقية رعاية للمخيم الرياضي في الأردن للفئة العمرية 16 عامًا فما فوق، بالإضافة إلى مخيم رياضي آخر يُقام في النادي الأرثوذكسي للفئات العمرية الأصغر من 16 عامًا.
ويهدف هذان المخيمان إلى تنمية المهارات الرياضية لدى الشباب، وتعزيز قدراتهم البدنية، إلى جانب تزويدهم بورشات عمل تثقيفية حول الأخلاق المسيحية وأهمية اندماج الشباب في المجتمع والمشاركة الفاعلة في خدمته.
تأتي هذه المبادرة في إطار التزام المؤسسات الشريكة بدعم الشباب وتمكينهم، والمساهمة في بناء جيل واعٍ وقادر على إحداث تأثير إيجابي في مجتمعه.

The Shepherd Society / Bethlehem Bible College, in partnership with the Orthodox Club, has signed a sponsorship agreement for a sports camp in Jordan for youth aged 16 and above, as well as another sports camp hosted at the Orthodox Club for participants under the age of 16.
These camps aim to develop young people's athletic skills and physical abilities while also providing educational workshops on Christian values, ethics, and the importance of youth engagement and active participation in their communities.
This initiative reflects the commitment of the partnering organizations to support and empower young people, helping to build a generation that is aware, responsible, and capable of making a positive impact in society.

The Nakba is not merely a memory in the pages of history, but a wound that is still alive in the heart of the Palestinian people…
It is the tear of a mother who is still waiting, the prayer of a grandmother who keeps the key as if it were a promise of return, and the story of a people who learned to carry their pain every day without losing hope.
And in the midst of this long suffering, we learn from Christ that injustice does not have the final word, and that light is born even from the darkest nights. Just as the marks of the nails remained in Christ’s hands after the Resurrection, the traces of the Nakba remain in our souls… not to kill hope, but to testify that pain cannot defeat truth and love.
We pray for justice, for a peace that upholds human dignity, and for the day when every person returns to their home, and finally finds peace in their heart.

النكبة ليست مجرد ذكرى في صفحات التاريخ، بل جرحٌ ما زال حيًّا في قلب الإنسان الفلسطيني… هي دمعةُ أمٍّ ما زالت تنتظر، وصلاةُ جدّةٍ تحفظ المفتاح كأنّه وعدٌ بالعودة، وحكايةُ شعبٍ تعلّم أن يحمل ألمه كل يوم دون أن يفقد الرجاء. وفي وسط هذا الوجع الطويل، نتعلّم من المسيح أن الظلم لا يملك الكلمة الأخيرة، وأن النور يولد حتى من أكثر الليالي ظلمة. فكما بقيت آثار المسامير في يدي المسيح بعد القيامة، بقيت آثار النكبة في أرواحنا… لا لتقتل الرجاء، بل لتشهد أن الألم لا يستطيع أن يهزم الحق والمحبة. نصلّي من أجل العدالة، ومن أجل سلامٍ يحفظ كرامة الإنسان، ومن أجل يومٍ يعود فيه كل إنسان إلى بيته، ويجد قلبه أخيرًا مطمئنًا.

The Ascension of Christ into heaven is not a farewell because we only say goodbye to those who may never return.
He ascended to heaven to show us how precious our humanity is.
He carried with Him His wounds our wounds.
He carried human fear, to tell us that it will be overcome.
He carried our earthly thoughts, to assure us that they can be transformed and made holy.
And most importantly, His Ascension proclaims:
The One who died for us and rose again will never forget us, and He has opened the gate of heaven so that we may enter after we finish our journey in this world.

Live on earth, but keep your heart in heaven 💙

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
Psalm 23:1

Who among us chooses the wrong path?
Or makes decisions hoping they’ll turn out wrong?
We’re always searching for what’s right…
but sometimes we forget to look for the right Shepherd the one who can truly guide our lives and lead us to life.
So often, we don’t seek counsel…
and even when we do, we choose advice that just fits what we already want.
We think we’re certain,
but in reality, we may be letting our lives slip away through wrong ideas, wrong people, or wrong places.
Today, on Good Shepherd Sunday,
choose Jesus to lead your life because He knows your heart better than you do. 💙
