Isadora was found on March 8 with an open wound after TNR go wrong. Someone from neighborhood apparently tried to spay her but they didn’t realize that the vet needed to be informed that cat was going to be released to the street, so he didn’t provide extra protection. We took her to the hospital where she underwent surgical procedure
Her rescuer decided to take her home so she can heal, receive proper medical attention, vaccinations and be prepared for adoption. Isadora is a very sweet cat, and she was ready for adoption on April 6. On April 27 she flew to her adopted parents to Arlington MA.
She adapted very fast to her new home (see pictures stretching on carpet and with new dog friend)) and her nickname is Isadorable.
Any donation would be very much appreciated so we can continue helping our lower brothers in need (we already working on new cases) Every donor will receive confirmation for their tax deduction in US or PR if they contact [email protected]

Right before long weekend another 3 rescues made to their forever homes
Juliana flew to NJ with experienced volunteer from FlyDogz - Joseph took over 30 rescues out of island so far!
Due to lack of volunteers for flights to CT, we flew ourselves Loki to Hartford and drove Aron to Arlington MA.
All three made to very happy loving homes! Thank you, all adopters and volunteers who help cats of this island

Last Sunday, on Mother's Day our two Flight Angels, Kaori and John took two SJ rescues on the late flight to Boston. Adopters didn't mind coming to the airport close to midnight. Both cats are currently doing well in their new homes. Thank you all!

This mother and daughter got TNR thanks to professional TNR friend! It took time to lure them out of the villa gate to the sidewalk; they are pretty feral.
Mother, very young, had two litters. First -3 kittens all died from respiratory infection. Second - 3 kittens - one caught and adopted, one run over by the car, one (7months old) on the picture spayed just in time. Finally!

Thank you to fantastic family of Leigh, John and their two sons, Jack(12) and Qwen(10) for taking our 4 rescue cats on 4/27 Delta flight to Boston. All four adopters were amazed how much affection boys showed to the cats they were responsible to bring. Due to hectic situation at the airport, we don't have too many pictures but still wanted to share few we have. Thanks again!

This young female cat caught one TNR lady attention because she was staying under a car for some time. It turned out that she had mechanical injuries around legs and tail caused probably by some vehicle. Due to injuries cat had issue with emptying her bladder. She was lucky that her rescuer took her immediately to the vet and offered a shelter in her house patiently caring for wounds and helping to empty the bladder.
Today Molly is finally fine. She is very friendly cat with beautiful green eyes. She won't go back on the street. Hopefully she will find forever home. It is such a pleasure to work with people who care for injured animals.
On the other note - accidents happen, but too many times we see cats purposedly hurt by vehicle drivers. Not sure why there is so much cruelty in people

It is so nice to see young compassionate people like Valeria who took this little scared kitten with her home, instead just posting a picture saying that there is a cat near road. Sadly, she suspects he was abandoned by someone at Las Catalinas mall, which sounds likely because he had no parasites at all.
Little Cheddar is now safe at foster home and going for his first vaccines tomorrow.
If you would like to be a foster parent for a next kitten that needs help like Cheddar, please contact us.

This story started 2 months ago but I never had a time to write about it. I feel it is still worth publish this story about fantastic girl Angela, the strong cat named Ari, love and survival.
In mid-February a girl contacted me from Wisconsin saying that she would like to come back to Puerto Rico to take home the street cat she met during vacation in Arecibo. I said I can try to help but not sure if it will work as I am not great trapper, also I have no room to foster etc. She sent me pictures, direction etc. We decided we will communicate thru the phone with every step. I went to Arecibo looking for him taking just small dog crate in case it works. When I saw him, I wanted to cry, I called her and told her that the cat is not young, and he is in bad shape, all in wounds, neighbors told me that he is often attacked by other cats. She just said, " I think we should try". Ari walked to dog crate on his own and I took him to the nearby 24h emergency hospital. He totally felt comfortable exploring exam room, he showed his nature of very vocal and friendly cat. Turned out, it used to be once someone's cat around 5y old with few teeth surgically removed in the past. Then my heart sank when doctor told me that Ari is FIV positive and needs medical help. I called Angela with sad news and also made her aware that my foundation is not able to sponsor it all at this moment as we had a lot of expenses with other rescue hospitalization and practically zero funding. Again, she just said " I think we need to give him a chance"
She took full financial responsibility for hospitalization that lasted 2 weeks. She was talking to medical personnel every day, she kept me posted on progress. I visited him in hospital once when in neighborhood. Finally, Ari got clearance to get vaccinated and travel. Angela came to SJ, and we drove to Arecibo, picked up the cat, documents and they flew to Wisconsin next morning, as she said, "just before Aris first storm".
I know it is a long story, thankfully it is not the only story about wonderful tourists. It makes me cry whenever I think of Angela, a girl of few words with big, big heart and Ari, super cat with unbelievable will of survival. I hope it is motivational. Please check out all pictures below documenting the journey of poor abandoned cat to happy home thousands of miles away.
