MED25 Bel Espoir

From March to October 2025, a peace training ship, called Bel Espoir, sails the Mediterranean, connecting the five shores.

On board, eight groups of twenty-five young people of all nationalities, cultures and religions are committed to peace.

🎬 Episode 8 continues. Day 8 — Winds of Learning. ⛵

After a day full of meaning, the sails rise once more.
Learning to navigate the sea is part of the journey —
working hand in hand with the Bel Espoir crew,
each wave teaching teamwork, patience, and trust.

As the sun dipped low, we reached the beautiful port of Bonifacio,
where calm waters and quiet rest awaited the army of peace.

🎬 Episode 8 continues. Day 7 — A Visit to Remember. 🤍

Today brought a surprise none of us expected —
Pope Leo XIV himself came aboard the Bel Espoir.

Not just a meeting, but a true encounter.
He spoke about peace, listened to the voices of the young,
and filled our floating home with warmth and hope.

A moment that will sail with us forever.

Yesterday, Le Bel Espoir, the crew and the young people from session 8 had the honour of welcoming Pope Leo XIV on board. It was a meeting dedicated to peace.

🎬 Episode 8 continues. Day 6 — Crossroads of Faith. 🕊️

From sea to city, the journey brought us to Trastevere,
where we met Cardinal Michael Czerny of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development.

At Santa Maria Maggiore, we prayed at the tomb of Pope Francis,
the one who believed in and inspired this School of Peace.

Later, at the Great Mosque of Rome, the Imam welcomed us
with stories of faith, history, and dialogue.

Different paths, one purpose — peace.

🎬 Episode 8 continues. Day 5 — Weathering the Waves. 🌊

The sea tested us today — strong winds, rolling waves, and more seasick smiles.
But our bond proved stronger than the storm.

We’re getting to know the Bel Espoir crew —
a team so full of love, care, and calm, it feels like we’ve known them forever.

And just when we thought the day had given all its surprises...
dolphins joined the journey. 🐬

The first full day aboard the Bel Espoir — and with it come many firsts:
first seasickness, first cleaning, first cooking, first swims.

The waves test the body, but strengthen the bond.
The new army of peace grows tighter, closer,
and more united with every tide.

The morning begins at the Seminary,
where voices rise and stories inspire — each one a spark in the growing light of peace.

Then, the moment arrives.
It’s time to leave the land behind and set sail across the Mediterranean.
A day charged with emotion, movement, and meaning.

The new army of peace stands ready —
energised, motivated, and full of hope to carry peace wherever the waves may lead.

The day awakens to music — a beautiful alarm calling hearts to action.
From melodies to movement, the new army for peace rolls up its sleeves,
serving with clean hands, full hearts, and shared meals.

Today, they meet the Bel Espoir — a ship, a symbol,
and a sea of emotion.

Day 2: where peace sails, and stories are served with love (and plenty of food).
