Today, we were honored to participate in Coral Reef Week 2026 alongside our incredible partners at Plant a Million Corals Foundation and Dr. David Vaughan for a special presentation and live Q&A on coral restoration.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Vaughan for sharing his knowledge, vision, and unwavering optimism for the future of coral reefs. His passion, energy, and decades of experience continue to inspire hope and action across the restoration community.

We would also like to thank the Puerto Rico Department of Natural and Environmental Resources (DRNA) and the Coral Reef Week team for the opportunity to be part of this important celebration of Puerto Rico’s reefs and the people working to protect them.

At The Coral Nursery, we believe that hope is one of the most powerful tools in conservation, and today’s conversation was a wonderful reminder that together, we can make a difference for our reefs.

The ocean is a place like no other, grounding, healing, and always reminding us to pause and breathe.

As we come out of an amazing holiday season, we’re taking a moment to recharge. Here in Puerto Rico, we’ll wrap up the holidays by celebrating Three Kings Day tomorrow, and we wish everyone a safe, peaceful, and happy start to January and an incredible rest of 2026.

Behind the scenes, our team has been hard at work as we launch our operations & eduction program with our team on site daily continuing the careful process of making saltwater, one step at a time. 🪸💪🏼🌊

We love seeing our acrylic coral tanks filled and almost ready to house thousands of corals! Our saltwater has been eight weeks in the making, carefully tended each day by our incredible coral biologists. We’re anticipating our first coral dive this month as we step into our first year fully operational ♥️💪🏼🪸

As 2025 comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on just how far we’ve come. This year has been our biggest yet - filled with growth, hard work, milestones, and the realization of something that once felt like a dream.

From building our facility to growing our team and laying the foundation for coral restoration and education, every step this year has brought us closer to our mission. And the best part? This is just the beginning.

2026 will be our first full year fully operational; restoring corals, welcoming students, and making an even bigger impact on our reefs and community. We’re beyond excited for what’s ahead and so grateful for everyone who’s been part of this journey with us.

Here’s to growth, purpose, and an incredible year ahead. 🌊✨
