Me acerco a ustedes para pedirles ayuda para encontrar alivio financiero para la Familia Irizarry. (English translation below)

Keyshla Betancourt Irizarry nació en Manatí, Puerto Rico. Su madre Nydia Lynette Irizarry se dedicó en alma y vida criando y cuidando de su hija, Keyshla y de su hijo menor. Lynette ya había perdido a su única hermana por Distrofia Muscular en el 2000 y luego a su padre en el 2007, por lo tanto, su única familia inmediata era su madre que se llamaba igual que ella – Nydia.

La lucha del Cáncer Linfático de Keyshla comenzó cuando tenía tan solo 16 años. Desde esa edad ella comenzó a recibir un sin número de tratamientos y cuando Keyshla comenzó a tener complicaciones su madre Lynette se vio obligada a dejar su trabajo y dedicarse de lleno al cuido de su hija. Durante los años en Puerto Rico Keyshla recibió mucha ayuda y tratamiento de la Asociación del Cáncer de Puerto Rico, pero su salud no mejoraba. Dos años más tarde Keyshla fue escogida como niña símbolo de la Fundación Make–a–Wish.

Keyshla era la bebé y la reina de la casa y su abuela Nydia la ayudaba siempre económicamente para sus tratamientos, pero para enero 2017 Nydia fallece dejando a Lynette y a sus hijos sin ninguna ayuda y/o seguro para sobre existir. Lamentablemente el padre biológico de Keyshla no quiso asumir su responsabilidad de padre y se negó ayudar en tratamientos y medicamentos a su hija. Varios meses más tarde Keyshla sale con un tumor celebrar. Luego al Lynette no tener los ingresos para continuar pagando el hogar, que su madre dejó, el banco se queda con la propiedad. En septiembre de ese mismo año fue el paso del Huracán María, y todo esto causó que Lynette no le quedara otra alternativa que para el mes de octubre irse de Puerto Rico hacia el estado de Florida. Fue a buscar el tratamiento que tanto necesitaba su hija. Las luchas y los desvelos buscando ayuda y tratamiento para Keyshla fueron infinitos. Luego de una larga batalla de cáncer linfático, tumor cerebral y varios otros tumores en sus pulmones este pasado 8 de septiembre de 2021 Keyshla fallece por complicaciones de un paro respiratorio.

Perder un hijo es un dolor terrible, pero perderlo durante este tiempo de pandemia es aún peor. Lynette llegó justo detrás de la ambulancia cuando llegaron de emergencia al hospital, pero no permitieron Lynette entrar y ella nunca tuvo la oportunidad de despedirse de su hija. Se quedó afuera esperando hasta que 2 días después le informaron que su hija falleció. Ahora se han comunicado con Lynette para indicarle que le dan solamente una semana para que gestione la suma de $11,000 para un entierro sin velatorio o $8,000 para una cremación. Esta suma se divide entre los gastos del cementerio, el panteón, la funeraria y todos los permisos que el estado de florida exige debido al Covid-19. Para su conocimiento los cementerios municipales en el estado de Florida no están aceptando más cadáveres para ser enterrados. Esto es un total caos. Como Keyshla no murió del Covid-19 se ha conseguido que hagan una excepción, pero esto tiene un alto costo. Ellos tienen conocimiento que Lynette no tiene dinero para su entierro, pero lamentablemente esto es un proceso que todos tienen que cumplir. Por otro lado, tampoco las funerarias pueden retener por mucho tiempo los cuerpos en sus facilidades, por lo tanto, de no poder conseguir el dinero no sabemos cuál sería el próximo paso que ellos han de seguir con el cuerpo de Keyshla. No poder despedirse de su hija, no poder darle una sepultura sencilla y encima de eso no saber dónde han de llevar el cuerpo por falta de dinero es un sentimiento horrible. Esto tiene atormentada a Lynette y no es para menos. ¿Qué haría usted si se encontrara en los zapatos de Lynette? ¿Dejaría que el County decida qué hacer con el cuerpo y no tratar de conseguir el dinero para darle la sepultura que un hijo se merece? Como ella no tiene esa cantidad de dinero he tomado la iniciativa de hacerles saber la necesidad de mi querida prima acercándome a ustedes para pedirles una donación y cubrir los gastos, aunque sean los mínimos y así poder darle el sepelio que Keyshla se merece.

Lo primero que hice fue hacer las gestiones para que le extiendan los días para conseguir el dinero pues ayer, jueves, 16 de septiembre fue cuando venció el término. Eso ya se logró. Ahora estoy apelando al costo, pero mientras tanto los minutos, las horas y los días pasan y decidí con el permiso de mi querida prima postear esta petición. Solo pido $1 que es libre de costo y proceso por la cuenta de PayPal.

Continuaremos orando por Nydia Lynette y su hijo porque sabemos que Dios obra de maneras misteriosas y en su momento perfecto Dios hace siempre milagros perfectos. Yo estoy convencida que Dios va hacer el milagro porque solo el esta en control de TODO. Lynette es una mujer fuerte, luchadora y ella no piensa perder la fe porque ella sabe que Dios ha de ayudarla y no la ha de abandonar. No lo hizo antes tampoco ha de hacerlo ahora. De parte de la Familia Irizarry y la mía propia les damos las gracias anticipadas por cualquier aportación que hagan y rogamos que Dios derrame la bendición sobre todos nosotros durante este tiempo.

Keyshla Betancourt Irizarry was born in Manatí, Puerto Rico. Her mother Nydia Lynette Irizarry devoted her life and soul to raising and caring for her daughter, Keyshla, and her youngest son. Lynette had already lost her only sister to Muscular Dystrophy in 2000 and then her father in 2007, therefore her only immediate family was her mother who was named after her - Nydia.

Keyshla's Lymphatic Cancer fight began when she was just 16 years old. From that age, she began to receive a number of treatments and when Keyshla began to have complications her mother Lynette was forced to quit her job and dedicate herself fully to caring for her daughter. During her years in Puerto Rico, Keyshla received a lot of help and treatment from the Puerto Rico Cancer Association, but her health did not improve. Two years later Keyshla was chosen as the symbolic child of the Make-a-Wish Foundation

Keyshla was the baby and queen of the house and her grandmother Nydia always helped her financially for her treatments, but by January 2017 Nydia passed away leaving Lynette and her children without any help and/or insurance to survive. Unfortunately, Keyshla's biological father did not want to assume his responsibility as a father and refused to help his daughter with treatments and medications. Several months later Lynette receives another bad news – Keyshla was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Meanwhile, Lynette did not have the money to continue paying for the home that her mother left behind, therefore, the bank repossessed the property. In September of that same year, we were hit by Hurricane Maria and in October Lynette was left with no choice to leave Puerto Rico and move to Florida. She left hoping she could find the treatment her daughter so badly needed. The struggles and sleepless nights seeking help and treatment for Keyshla were endless. After a long battle of lymphatic cancer, a brain tumor, and several other tumors in her lungs this past September 8, 2021, Keyshla died of complications from respiratory arrest.

Losing a child is a terrible thing, but losing a child during this time of a pandemic is even worse. Lynette arrived right behind the ambulance when the emergency arrived at the hospital, but Lynette was not allowed to enter and she never had the chance to say goodbye to her daughter. She stood outside waiting until 2 days later she was informed that her daughter her passed away. Now the funeral has contacted Lynette to tell her that they give her only one week to come up with the amount of $ 11,000 for burial without a wake or $ 8,000 for cremation. This sum is divided between the expenses of the cemetery, the plot, the funeral home, and all the permits that the state of Florida requires due to Covid-19. Just in case you did not know the municipal cemeteries in the state of Florida are not accepting more corpses to be buried. This is total chaos. Because Keyshla did not die from Covid-19, an exception has been made, but this comes at a high cost. They are aware that Lynette does not have money for her burial, but unfortunately this is a process that everyone has to follow. Funeral homes cannot hold bodies for long in their facilities, therefore, if they cannot get the money, we do not know what would be the next step they will take with Keyshla's body. Not being able to say goodbye to your daughter, not being able to give her a simple burial and on top of that not knowing where they might put to rest her body due to lack of money is a horrible feeling. It’s no wonder why Lynette cannot sleep and is tormented by the thought. What would you do if you were in Lynette's shoes? Would you let the County decide what to do with the body and not try to get the money to give the burial your child deserves? Because she does not have that amount of money, I have taken the initiative to let you know the need that my dear cousin is having and I am reaching out to you for a donation to cover the expenses, even if they are minimal so that Lynette can give Keyshla the burial she deserves.

The first thing I did was to make arrangements to extend the days to get the money because yesterday, Thursday, September 16 the term had expired. That has already been achieved. Now I am appealing to the cost, but in the meantime, the minutes, hours, and days go by and I decided with the permission of my dear cousin to post this request.

We will continue to pray for Nydia Lynette and her son because we know that God works in mysterious ways and in His perfect timing God always works perfect miracles. I am convinced that God is going to do the miracle because only he is in control of EVERYTHING. Lynette is a fighter, strong, and a woman of faith and she does not intend to lose faith because she knows that God will help her and will not abandon her. He never abandoned her before, nor she believes He will do it now. On behalf of the Irizarry Family and my own, we thank you in advance for any contribution you make and we pray that God will pour out the blessing on all of us during this time.
