🎶 THE CARPATHIANS CAME TO NEW YORK — AND THE CHURCH WALLS SANG BACK. Today's "From the Heart of the Carpathians" at St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church was everything we hoped it would be — and more. Sacred polyphony, Lemko folk songs, Boyko wedding music, Bartók, Górecki, Skoryk — all performed in a space where Andy Warhol once sat in the pews, quietly carrying the Byzantine visual tradition that would shape the art of the 20th century. Thank you to the Bortniansky Choir, Ensemble Zieleny Jawir, Mariusz Monczak, Nicholas Kaponyas, the Prostopinije Quartet, pianist Michael McAusland, and our MC Bogdan Horbal — and to every person who came through those doors today. This music has survived displacement, borders, and silence. Today it filled a New York church with extraordinary force. — 📣 THE JOURNEY CONTINUES: May 27, 2026 "CARPATHO-RUSYN RHAPSODY" at Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall The first concert of Carpatho-Rusyn music ever performed at Carnegie Hall.
