Beginning on the 14th of October, Łokietka 5 will be organising two weekends of events dedicated to football against racism. On the 14th of October at 19:00 we will hold a movie and discussion evening which will take place at Łokietka 5. A movie w
ill be shown concerning the topics we wish to explore; racism, its origin, and the possible solutions. The discussion will be led by a moderator, who will encourage dialogue between members of the panel and the audience by posing relevant questions. The panel will be composed of special guest speakers who will be invited to add different points of view. At 18:00 on October 15th, also in Łokietka 5, we will open an exhibition which celebrates multiculturalism in Polish football. The exhibition will outline the history of ethnic minorities in the local and national teams and will also highlight the problem of racism that exists in football stadiums today. The exhibition will run throughout the following week. On the following weekend, October 22nd/23rdwe will host a six a side football tournament. Twelve teams, made up of players from different backgrounds and cultures will compete over the weekend to become the “PLAY FAIR” champions.The Tournament will raise awareness of anti-racism and also show the importance of 'fair play' and 'respect'. At the end of the tournament, all participants will be awarded with anti-racism themed items and the winners will be awarded with medals and trophies. The place and exact time of the tournament to be announced. Running parallel to the tournament will be an international buffet, featuring tastes from around the world. Tents will be put up between the two pitches, and guests are invited to cook food from their countries and bring it to the event. These dishes will serve as refreshments for participants and spectators of the tournament. As well as the buffet there will be other multicultural activities taking place, such as ethnic music in the form of a DJ or live band and arts and craft workshops from various cultures. Finally, we will be running a football training session for local children. Professional players from WKS have been invited to train children in football skills, as well as the value of fair play in football. This event will take place on Sunday 23rd in the same venue of the tournament, on a second pitch at.
