“Family Upbringing” periodical publishes only previously unpublished academic articles, that is original research results (both carried out with quantitative and qualitative methodology) as well as meta-analyses. The periodical accepts articles covering the topic of family from the perspective of various academic disciplines. The common ground of the published papers is the historical and contemporary context of the widely understood family upbringing.
The periodical does not publish reviews nor reports, which are not academic (research) articles.
According to the guideline of the Polish Ministry of Education and Science publishing an article in the “Family Upbringing” periodical is awarded with 40 points (position 31263 of the official list of academic periodicals and reviewed conference materials: https://www.gov.pl/web/edukacja-i-nauka/nowy-rozszerzony-wykaz-czasopism-naukowych-i-recenzowanych-materialow-z-konferencji-miedzynarodowych).
To ensure the highest quality of the articles published in the “Family Upbringing” periodical, as well as to ensure the continuity of the consecutive editions of the periodical, the editorial board has changed the publication procedure, dividing it into two phases: review and publication. The rules of financing have also changed, as currently the periodical is mostly self-financed. Thus, a two-phase fee has been introduced:
- fee for the review of an article: 300 PLN for Polish language articles (100 EUR for English language articles), which covers the costs of the review procedure. This fee does not ensure receiving a positive review. This fee is not returned in the case of a negative review of the article.
- fee for the publishing of an article: 1250 PLN for Polish language articles (400 EUR for English language articles). This fee is covered by the Authors of the articles, which have received two positive reviews and are thus qualified for further publication procedure.
Articles in the periodical are published in the open access format under the CC-BY-SA licence, which means that every Author has the right to publish their article on the internet under the clause of mentioning the “Family Upbringing” periodical as the place of the original publication
To maximise the academic impact of the articles published in the “Family Upbringing” periodical the Editorial Team disseminates the articles in the Repository of the University of Wrocław, Digital Library of the University of Wrocław, in the academic periodicals databases: DOAJ, Index Copernicus, POLindex, CEEOL, BazHum, CEJSH, CEON, ARIANTA, EBSCO, ERIH plus, as well as on the portals: Academia Edu, Reasearchgate, and Googlebooks. At the same time, the Editorial Team undertakes steps to introduce the periodical into further databases.
The periodical is affiliated at the Institute of Pedagogy of the Faculty of Historical and Pedagogical Sciences of the University of Wrocław (Poland), and the Publisher of the periodical is: EDUsfera. Ewa Jurczyk-Romanowska, NIP 5471830063, REGON 385633764. The Editor in Chief of the periodical is: prof. zw. dr hab. Stefania Walasek. Currently, the hitherto cooperation with the University of Wrocław is being negotiated.
