Działamy na rzecz poszanowania praw człowieka i stosowania zasad zrównoważonego rozwoju w kontekście Działania Instytutu, w tym m.in. Mireckiego 25/36.

Polski Instytut Praw Człowieka i Biznesu jest apolityczną i niezależną fundacją non-profit działającą na rzecz zwiększenia stopnia poszanowania praw człowieka i stosowania zasad zrównoważonego rozwoju, w kontekście odpowiedzialnego prowadzenia biznesu, poprzez oddziaływanie na codzienną praktykę funkcjonowania przedsiębiorstw i innych organizacji, a także politykę państwa i ustawodawstwo. Instytut

jako centrum eksperckie chce efektywnie wpływać na przestrzeganie praw człowieka zarówno w kontekście prowadzenia biznesu jak i poprzez oddziaływnaie na tworzenie stosownych polityk i regulacji. Naszym celem jest:

- wzmocnienie kompetencji przedsiębiorstw, by wiedziały czym są prawa człowieka i umiały ich przestrzegać,

- wzmocnienie organizacji pozarządowych aby zwiększyć efektywność ich działania, oraz

- wspieranie administracji publicznej w działaniach skutkujących wprowadzeniem rozwiązań prawnych i praktycznych promujących i wspierających odpowiedzialne postawy przedsiębiorstw. badania naukowe, działalność edukacyjno-szkoleniowa i popularyzatorska, a także współpraca z przedstawicielami wszystkich sektorów, mają na celu przyczynić się do zmiany paradygmatu dotyczącego relacji praw człowieka i biznesu, oraz odpowiedzialności przedsiębiorstw i innych organizacji za naruszenia praw człowieka. Polski Instytut Praw Człowieka i Biznesu powstał w marcu 2014 r. z inicjatywy jego dwóch fundatorek, Beaty Faracik i Joanny Szymonek, które były prekursorkami działań na rzecz implementacji w Polsce Wytycznych ONZ ds. Biznesu i Praw Człowieka przyjętych jednogłośnie przez Radę Praw Człowieka ONZ w 2011 r. Instytut jest zarejstrowany jako fundacja pod nr KRS 0000505623 w XVII Wydziale Gospodarczym KRS Sądu Rejonowego w Częstochowie. Posiada także REGON: 243533047 oraz numer NIP: 9492197087.

🙏 A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the webinar "Omnibus I and CSDDD: Less regulation, more risk?" - a conversation that once again demonstrated how critical the topics of corporate sustainability, ESG policies, and human rights due diligence remain in a rapidly shifting regulatory landscape.

🌍 Call for applications is open for the 4th CEE & Central Asia Summer Academy on Business and Human Rights! Deadline: June 20, 2026.

The Summer Academy is the flagship programme of the Polish Institute for Human Rights and Business (PIHRB) and Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University, run in partnership with the Global Business Initiative on Human Rights and UNDP organised in partnership with the Global Business Initiative on Human Rights and in collaboration with the UN Development Programme, the CEECA Resource Hub, and the CEE&CA Business and Human Rights Association. The 2026 edition is made possible thanks to support from the Sigrid Rausing Trust and the pro-bono engagement of partner organisations.

This year's focus: Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) and human rights impact assessments - covering all three pillars of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs).

Open to professionals from business, NGOs, trade unions, law firms, public administration, and postgrad students from Central & Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Participants who complete the programme receive an official Certificate.

Trzy tematy, o których warto porozmawiać. Wszystkie w jednym miejscu.

11 i 12 czerwca w Pałacu Kultury i Nauki w Warszawie odbywa się Forum Horyzontów Społecznych organizowane przez Uniwersytet Civitas. Jesteśmy partnerem tego wydarzenia i wybraliśmy trzy panele, na które naszym zdaniem warto szczególnie zwrócić uwagę.

1️⃣ Prawa człowieka w biznesie w perspektywie nauk społecznych
Ochrona praw człowieka to dziś realne wyzwanie operacyjne dla firm - od globalnych łańcuchów dostaw, przez technologie cyfrowe, po transformację klimatyczną. Panel przedstawia perspektywę prawną, socjologiczną i ekonomiczną.
Moderuje dr Barbara Markowska-Marczak (Uniwersytet Civitas). Wśród panelistów: dr Adam Ploszka i dr Izabela Schiffauer.

2️⃣ Zrównoważony rozwój i odpowiedzialność w warunkach niepewności rynkowej i regulacyjnej
Jak decydować, gdy regulacje się zmieniają, a ryzyko jest większe niż zasoby? Debata okrągłego stołu z udziałem GPW), PZU, Fundacja Frank Bold oraz Uniwersytet Ekonomiczny w Krakowie.

3️⃣ Resilient Leadership
Wypalenie kluczowych ról, spadek jakości decyzji, rotacja talentów - to już nie problemy HR, to ryzyko organizacyjne. Panel prezentuje wyniki ogólnopolskiego badania polskich liderów zestawione z bazą setek tysięcy rekordów Resilience Institute. Panel moderuje dr Jacqueline Kacprzak, a wśród panelistów: Benoit Greindl, Pawel Nizinski i dr hab. Robert Sroka.

To trzy z szesnastu paneli. Obok nich sesje plenarne o demokracji, geopolityce, AI, transformacji energetycznej i psychologii zmian. Dwa dni, jedno miejsce, wiele środowisk przy jednym stole.

Stacjonarnie w Warszawie lub online - do wyboru.

Milieudefensie złożyło w tym tygodniu drugi pozew klimatyczny przeciwko Shellowi, żądając zaprzestania wierceń w nowych złożach ropy i gazu.
Co istotne z perspektywy prawnej: sąd apelacyjny w pierwszej sprawie uznał już, że firmy mają własne zobowiązania w zakresie redukcji emisji, niezależnie od działań rządów. I że nowe projekty wydobywcze mogą być sprzeczne z międzynarodowymi porozumieniami klimatycznymi.
Shell, gdyby był państwem, znalazłby się w pierwszej piątce największych emitentów na świecie. W marcu 2025 roku poinformował inwestorów o planach zwiększenia produkcji LNG po 2030 roku. Nie ma przy tym żadnego konkretnego planu dojścia do zeroemisyjności - deklaracja na 2050 rok pozostaje, jak to ujął sąd, hasłem marketingowym.

“Omnibus I and CSDDD: Less Regulation, More Risk?”

On May 27, the Bulgarian Foundation for Business and Human Rights - BFBHR / Българска фондация за бизнеса и правата на човека and Polski Instytut Praw Człowieka i Biznesu (Polish Institute for Human Rights and Business) are organising a special webinar dedicated to the practical implications of regulatory changes at the EU level following the “Omnibus I” package.

In this webinar, we will discuss:
👉 what has actually changed in the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD),
👉 why the “easing” of requirements may lead to greater risks, and
👉 how companies can prepare in the context of growing expectations related to ESG, forced labour, and greenwashing.
