A bear became a soldier. 🐻🎖️

In 1942, Polish soldiers found an orphaned bear cub in Iran and named him Wojtek. He lived alongside the troops, learned to salute, wrestled with soldiers, and was officially enlisted so he could travel with the unit.

During the Battle of Monte Cassino, Wojtek reportedly helped carry artillery ammunition. After the war, he lived at Edinburgh Zoo, where Polish veterans continued to visit their old companion.

History has been made. 🇵🇱

Bartłomiej Kubkowski has become the first person in history to complete a nonstop swim across the Baltic Sea from Sweden to Poland. 🌊

🏊 Distance: approximately 160 km
⏱️ Time: nearly 56 hours without sleep
🚤 Rules: no touching the support boat, no getting out of the water, with feeding only from the es**rt boat.

This was his fifth attempt. After years of setbacks, and coming within just 11 km of the finish last year, he finally achieved what had never been done before.

An extraordinary achievement in the history of open water swimming.

👏 Congratulations, Bartłomiej Kubkowski, and huge respect to the entire support team.

Every year on August 1 at 5:00 PM, the city pauses for Godzina W to honor the heroes and victims of the 1944 Warsaw Uprising. Thousands gather with Polish flags and red flares, united by remembrance, courage, and pride.

For one minute, the city pauses to honor the heroes of the 1944 Warsaw Uprising. While everyone remembers in their own way, one man climbed to the rooftop to raise the Polish flag even higher - a powerful symbol of remembrance, courage, and national pride.
