🌍 8th Round of GCLS: Locally for Global Goals – Empowering Communities through SDGs and Volunteering (Poland)
As the world celebrates from September 19–26, we want to highlight one of the inspiring projects from the 8th edition of GCLS, implemented by the Clementin Foundation (Fundacja Klementyna), which shows how local actions can drive global change.
Key activities included:
Employee volunteering campaigns, such as “Wolontariat z Klementyną”, promoted via social media and local business partnerships.
Workshops for local authorities, school leaders, and teachers to introduce the SDGs and explore their implementation in local policies and education.
The “Friendly Local Business” campaign, engaging companies in SDG-driven social initiatives.
The project reached approximately 40,000 people across five districts, creating practical opportunities for engagement and fostering collaboration among local businesses, authorities, and schools.
It addresses key SDGs including No Poverty (SDG 1), Zero Hunger (SDG 2), Quality Education (SDG 4), Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).
💡 By connecting local volunteering and SDG initiatives, this project is a perfect example of how small actions contribute to global goals.
