Just a glimpse from last Saturday’s event - the St. Andrew’s Foundation Charity Céilidh in Warsaw. ❤️

What an unforgettable evening! We were delighted to have welcomed 160 guests this year to share in another unique night of Scottish sights, sounds, culture, dance, and giving. Each year, we gather in support of meaningful causes - and this year was no different. Your presence truly helped us continue our mission. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

A big thank you to historic Reduta Banku Polskiego who hosted us for the second consecutive year with wonderful food and atmosphere! The Częstochowa Pipes and Drums and the aptly named The Cutting Edge Ceilidh Band, for once again bringing Scotland to Poland with pipe band sounds, traditional Scottish dances and contemporary sounds to the dance floor. Thank you to our sponsors and donors for their generous support. 💙

And of course, thank you to every one of our guests for your generous support during the evenings proceedings! ✨

Last night’s Céilidh Ball was an unforgettable celebration of community, culture, friendship and giving. We would like to extend our heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this wonderful evening possible.

💙 Raffle Prize Spotlight: Scenic Flight with Aeroklub Warszawski
We are thrilled to announce a truly unforgettable experience in this year’s raffle: a view flight generously donated by Aeroklub Warszawski.

For nearly 100 years, Aeroklub Warszawski has been nurturing the passion for aviation and preserving Poland’s remarkable flying heritage. Among its members were wartime heroes such as Jan Zumbach and Witold Urbanowicz, later commanders of the legendary 303 Squadron. Their history, from the dramatic evacuation of aircraft during the siege of Warsaw to underground operations in WWII, is an inspiring chapter of national bravery.

Today, the Aeroclub continues this legacy, honouring Poland’s aviators, including through initiatives like their recent commemorative flight to the UK for the Battle of Britain anniversary.

We are deeply grateful for their support of the St Andrew's Foundation Poland, symbolically strengthening the long-standing Polish–Scottish friendship.

During the official visit to Poland by The Lord Speaker, Lord McFall of Alcluith, he graciously took time to visit NRZOZ TPD Helenów to see firsthand one of the key projects completed with the generous support of the St. Andrews Foundation, its sponsors, donors, and friends. The Lord Speaker, a Scot, arrived to the swirl of bagpipes by our wonderful friends Częstochowa Pipes and Drums. 💙

Paul Gogolinski represented the Foundation and, together with Director Zbigniew Drzewiecki and his team, guided The Lord Speaker, representatives of the House of Lords, and the British Embassy in Warsaw on a walking tour of the impressive facilities - including the St. Andrews Foundation Hippotherapy Centre.

A perfect Polish golden autumn day provided a fitting backdrop to the visit.

It served as another reminder that supporting those less fortunate remains a constant and shared mission - one that the St. Andrews Foundation and Scots in Poland are deeply proud to continue. The Lord Speaker also learned of the Foundations other major contributions made in the last 10 years with the support of our wonderful friends at Fundacja Iskierka.

Yesterday, we proudly celebrated the 5th annual Scottish Day in Jadów - and what a day it was! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Organised by the Jadowskie Stowarzyszenie Historyczne and the British Embassy Warsaw, with the St. Andrews Foundation as a proud patron and advisor, this vibrant event continues to bring to life the fascinating history of Scottish settlers in Poland. 🤝

Firmly rooted in the past yet looking toward the future, Scottish Day offers a unique space for both younger and older generations to discover and celebrate the story of the Scots in Poland and the deep cultural ties between our two countries.

Around the main stage, guests enjoyed a variety of attractions, including a taste of the Highland Games, beginner rugby sessions, mock battles, traditional Scottish dancing, Gaelic music, whisky tasting, and of course, delicious haggis accompanied by the famous Ode to a Haggis - an unforgettable experience for all who attended.

🎉Today, on June 26th, 2025, we proudly celebrate the 10th anniversary of the St Andrew's Foundation Poland! 🎉

Since its founding on this day in 2015 by a group of Scottish businessmen in Warsaw, together with our supporters, partners, and friends, we’ve raised nearly 1 million PLN to support children and young people in Poland facing serious health challenges.

From elegant Caledonian Balls to the joyful energy of the Charity Ceilidh introduced in 2024 and now continued as a new tradition, our community has always come together with heart: dancing, celebrating, and giving generously.

💙 Through the years, we’ve proudly supported organizations like:
- Fundacja Iskierka, helping children in pediatric
- NRZOZ TPD Helenów Centrum Rehabilitacji, Edukacji i Opieki Towarzystwa Przyjaciół Dzieci HELENÓW, providing rehabilitation and care for young people with disabilities;

To everyone who has attended, donated, volunteered, performed, or simply cheered us on — thank you. This milestone belongs to all of you.
