Last week, Warsaw became a meeting point for researchers and scientists from Ukraine and Poland, taking part in the Polish-Ukrainian Science and Technology Forum, organised by the Polska Akademia Nauk Representative Office in Kyiv, Fundacja Fundusz Współpracy and CEE Startup Bridge.
Over five days, participants explored the Polish research and innovation ecosystem, met representatives of leading institutions, exchanged experience with experts and worked together on strengthening international cooperation between Ukrainian and Polish science.
The programme combined study visits, expert sessions, practical trainings and networking. At the Cooperation Fund Foundation, participants explored the Polish research landscape, international cooperation, commercialisation of research results and technology transfer, with experts from Politechnika Warszawska.
At the The National Centre for Research and Development they learned about financial reporting for Horizon Europe projects. At Pałac Staszica, the programme covered Safe and Sustainable by Design, EIC grants, the role of banks in supporting innovation, Science for Policy, AI in science and science communication.
Participants also visited the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Aviation and explored how research can connect with policy, business and society.
The Forum concluded with a closing conference, where participants presented their group outcomes, reflected on the week and discussed opportunities for continuing Polish-Ukrainian cooperation in research and innovation.
Five intensive days, many new connections and plenty of ideas to take forward. We hope the relationships and collaborations started in Warsaw will continue long after the Forum has ended.
