🌍 Calling all former international volunteers!

As European Volunteering celebrates its 30th anniversary, we are bringing together former volunteers to exchange experiences, share insights, and co-create ideas for the next generation of programmes.

✨ What to expect:
– discussions with peers and decision-makers (including National Agencies and the European Commission)
– a chance to share your experiences, challenges, and impact
– workshops based on your needs

👥 Who can join?
Young people aged 18–30 who have completed a transnational volunteering activity (e.g. ESC, EVS, Service Civique, etc.) between 2020 and 2026.

Our Europe Goes Local Mentoring Group is currently on a study visit in Vaasa, Finland — and the programme is packed!

Participants are getting into Finnish youth work through expert presentations, interactive discussions, and hands-on visits. They are learning about youth wellbeing, participation structures, youth policies, and how local youth services support young people in everyday life.
The group is also presenting youth work practices from their own countries, exchanging experiences, and building new partnerships.

A highlight of the visit is touring Vaasa Youth Services facilities, where participants meet youth workers, learn about youth councils, preventive work against violence, youth clubs, and guidance services.

Together with learning sessions, there is time for reflection, feedback, and evaluation in national groups — helping participants turn new ideas into concrete actions for their home countries. The visit will conclude with a joint assessment of youth work practices and future cooperation plans.
