Erase Indifference

Erase Indifference Our mission is to erase indifference and inspire compassion. By Auschwitz Pledge Foundation It’s clear. We can do better.

Started as an initiative at the Auschwitz Pledge Foundation, the Erase Indifference Challenge is an innovation engine created to find and fund modern, imaginative, and measurable initiatives that will lead to concrete actions and ultimately the demise of indifference, the rise of empathy, and the acceptance and celebration of our differences. -Birkenau, the founders believe bystanders facilitate discrimination and that is exactly what hatred needs to grow. Indifference is one of the leading causes of man’s inhumanity to man. Together we can erase indifference towards discrimination to build a safer world for all.

19 April 1943. The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising began.
On this day, a group of Jewish fighters — outnumbered and fully aware they would not survive — chose to fight.

Not because they believed they could win, but because they refused to face silence.

Indifference is not neutral.

🕯️ We remember. We do not look away.

✨ The Erase Indifference Challenge is an initiative recognizing and supporting modern, imaginative, and impactful projects that translate values into action — driving the decline of indifference, the growth of empathy, and the recognition and celebration of human diversity.

We seek initiatives that demonstrate real-world impact and effectiveness, drawing on approaches such as technology, community engagement, collaboration, gamification, pop culture, data and research, social experimentation, and education.

Our goal is to make indifference a target of action as well as a subject of public conversation to erase it from the social landscape. Indifference nurtures hatred and hatred can breed violence, and yes, even genocide.

We will not stand by. This is our Pledge.

As part of the Erase Indifference initiative, we brought the Polish-language version of Auschwitz Did Not Fall from the Sky to local audiences.

The screening took place at the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews — a deeply meaningful setting for a film like this. Mateusz Damięcki provided the opening introduction, and after the screening, Józef Wancer, Chairman of the Auschwitz Pledge Foundation and honorary chairman of BNP Paribas Bank Polska Supervisory Board, shared his reflections.

A reminder that indifference is never neutral. Thank you to everyone who bore witness with us.

🌼 April is a month of remembrance and reflection, marked by the anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. 🌼

This is a fragment of “Auschwitz Did Not Fall from the Sky” — a documentary whose Polish version was prepared as part of the Erase Indifference program. The film explores the origins of the Holocaust.

A story not only about what happened, but about what was ignored.
Indifference is a choice.
Choose to see.
Choose to respond. 🌼

A few days ago, we transferred the final grant installment — officially closing our collaboration on 👉🏻 Silent Voice: Justice for LGBTIQ Persons

🟣 As part of the Erase Indifference Challenge, the project contributed to ongoing conversations about digital rights, freedom of expression, and access to information, highlighting the implications of both the Computer Misuse Act and the Anti-Homosexuality Act.

🟣 From legal awareness campaigns to digital safety training, it supported communities in better understanding the systems that shape their everyday lives — bridging art, technology, and civic education in ways rarely seen before.

🟣 Because indifference often starts with lack of knowledge — and change starts with awareness.

Thank you for being part of the change.

We’ve just officially completed our collaboration with one of the Erase Indifference Challenge 2024 Winners 👉🏻 Silent Voice: Justice for LGBTIQ Persons

🟣 Led by East African Visual Artists, the project focused on raising awareness around digital rights and laws — including the Computer Misuse Act (2011), which has affected freedom of expression across society.

🟣 Through campaigns like Know Your Laws and digital safety workshops, the initiative helped make complex legal issues more accessible and supported safer online spaces.

🟣 This project reminds us: laws don’t impact just one group — they shape the reality for everyone.

Stay aware. Stay informed.

The project was implemented in 2025.

🟣 Thousands of people have already been trained to recognize the signal and support others safely.

Stay aware. Learn how to respond. Be part of the change.

The project was implemented in 2024.
