Israel to take part in African Lion 2025 military exercise

Morocco is set to host the 21st edition of the African Lion military exercise this week, in coordination with the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM). The multinational drills are expected to involve over 10,000 troops from approximately 40 nations — including participation from Israel.

Algeria has withdrawn from the military drill following confirmation that Israeli forces will be participating.

In the northeastern Somali region of Puntland, the UAE has positioned an advanced Israeli radar system as part of a broader effort to monitor and crush Yemeni resistance against Israel.

The technology behind the installation was developed by ELTA Systems, an Israeli subsidiary of Israel Aerospace Industries. It is designed to track a variety of threats, including missiles, drones, and artillery.
