They’re THIS HAPPY not because they just finished arranging chess pieces on a board… but because THEY JUST PASSED THEIR FT TRANSCENDENCE PROJECT!!! 🔥♟️

They built Chess42, a fully functional, web-based chess platform where you can test your skills against an AI bot or face off against a real-time remote opponent. The feature they’re most proud of? Tournaments with matchmaking, brackets and progression. Winner unlocks achievements and cling up the leaderboard ladder. Users can track statistics, edit profile, add others to friends, sneak-peek their activity, and many more.
Behind the clean, responsive UI is some serious technical depth: microservices, ORM, WebSockets, REST API, and Redis.

What’s the future of tech education?
You learn by doing hard things, with people, in a safe environment.
Not an easy thought. But as 42 Warsaw shows, that approach is proving especially effective in the face of AI and shifting employer expectations!

Last week, we hosted a debate featuring Ewa Zmyslowska, Chief People Officer at PLAY and President of the Freedom of Choice Foundation, which operates our campus.

She was joined by Aleksandra Czetwertyńska, Director of 42 Warsaw, and Aleksander Garbacz, a 42 Warsaw student and Play employee. His own path turned out to be a live example of exactly that!

Venture Café Warsaw , thank you for having us! Thanks also to our students, Maria Budkevich and Jakub Zackiewicz, who took the stage to present projects they’d built, showing what 👉🏻 learning by doing actually looks like at 42 Warsaw.

At 42 Warsaw, we meet people from different backgrounds: students, career changers, and curious minds who just want to understand how software works.
