Thanks to the hospitality of Bank Millennium, we had the pleasure of organizing the Business Round Table with the Ambassador of Portugal in Poland, in cooperation with the Embassy of Portugal in Poland, aicep Portugal Global and Quant Tank.

The event brought together representatives of business, public institutions, and organizations supporting economic cooperation between Poland and Portugal.

The meeting was opened by representatives of PPCC and H.E. the Ambassador of Portugal to Poland. A key highlight of the program was the presentation by Professor Stanisław Kluza, who represents SGH Warsaw School of Economics & Quant Tank, titled “Poland and Portugal: A Growing Strategic Economic Partnership,” which explored the development prospects of bilateral economic relations.

This was followed by speeches from H.E. the Ambassador of Portugal and Jorge Salvador from aicep Portugal Global, who emphasized the importance of economic, investment, and trade cooperation between Poland and Portugal.

The event concluded with a panel discussion, “How Business and Economic Diplomacy Can Strengthen Polish–Portuguese Cooperation,” during which participants exchanged views on the role of economic diplomacy in building sustainable business partnerships.

The event confirmed the growing interest in Polish–Portuguese cooperation and provided a valuable platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and identifying new opportunities for business development between both countries.

Today, on June 10, we celebrate Portugal Day, Camões Day, and the Day of Portuguese Communities — a moment to honor Portugal’s rich history, cultural heritage, and the millions of Portuguese citizens and descendants who contribute to societies across the globe. The day is observed annually on June 10 and recognizes both the nation and the enduring legacy of the poet Luís de Camões, one of the most influential figures in Portuguese literature.

On this special day, we celebrate the Portuguese language, culture, entrepreneurship, and the values that unite Portuguese communities wherever they live and work.

Strengthening connections between Poland and Portugal ✈️

The launch of the new direct Warsaw–Porto route by LOT Polish Airlines marks an important milestone in enhancing mobility, tourism, business relations, and people-to-people exchanges between our two countries.

As a patron of this initiative, the Polish-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce was pleased to support the tourism workshop held in Porto, bringing together representatives of Polish and Portuguese travel agencies, airlines, public institutions, and business organizations. The event created an excellent platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and exploring new opportunities for bilateral cooperation.

We would like to thank all partners who contributed to the success of this initiative, including LOT Polish Airlines, Polska Organizacja Turystyczna, Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Lisbon, and Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Poland in Porto.

🚀 Portugal as a High-Growth Export Market for Poland

Despite accounting for only around 0.5% of Poland’s total exports, Portugal has emerged as one of the most dynamic destinations for Polish goods.

Between 2015 and 2024, Polish exports to Portugal increased by approximately 180%, making it:

• the 4th fastest-growing export market among Poland’s top 30 global partners

• the 2nd fastest-growing within the European Union

This trend highlights a critical insight: market size does not necessarily determine strategic importance. Portugal’s growth trajectory, combined with its integration into broader European and global value chains, positions it as a high-potential partner for Polish exporters.

The report underscores that this growth is driven not only by demand expansion but also by increasing complementarities in industrial structures.

GO POLAND in the Algarve - the first edition in the south of Portugal, connecting Portuguese businesses with the Polish market!

On Wednesday, 20 May, the PPCC team had the pleasure of co-organising the first edition of GO POLAND in Lagoa (Algarve) in cooperation with the Câmara Municipal de Lagoa.

The seminar brought together Portuguese companies and local stakeholders interested in exploring business opportunities in Poland and strengthening economic cooperation between both countries.

The initiative was launched by PPCC member companies Caverna – Daria Krupińska and SMSBIZ.PL – Slawomir Delezuch and was supported by key institutional partners, including the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Lisbon.

Throughout the session, partners act legal: Ewa Bento da Silva, LL.M., TEKOM Portugal - Antonio Martins and Cerro Novo Properties – Wiktoria Chmielecka shared their experience and practical insights on doing business in Poland, highlighting key legal, operational and cultural aspects relevant for companies considering market entry.

The agenda focused on Poland’s economic potential, investment opportunities, and the key success factors for Portuguese companies entering the Polish market, as well as the importance of building sustainable bilateral business relations.

We are very grateful for the strong engagement of all participants, whose active contribution clearly demonstrated the growing interest of the Algarve business community in Poland. This first edition confirmed the significant potential of the region and the importance of continuing initiatives that foster closer economic ties between Poland and Portugal in the south of the country. The seminar concluded with a networking coffee session, providing an opportunity for further exchange of experiences and the establishment of new business contacts.

🎬We are pleased to announce that the Polish-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce is a partner of the MARÉ Festival of Portuguese-Speaking Countries Cinema, taking place on 28–30 May 2026 at Kino Muranów in Warsaw.

Each year, MARÉ invites audiences to discover the richness of cinema from Portuguese-speaking countries. This year’s edition highlights stories centered on women — resilient, independent, and taking agency in shaping their own lives and realities.

The programme includes, among others:

🎥 “The Fortunate Ones” (dir. Jeanne Waltz) — a moving Portuguese drama about solidarity, courage, and personal independence

🎥 “Night Passengers” (dir. Pedro Cabeleira) — a neo-noir crime drama exploring social exclusion, youth, and tensions in contemporary Portugal

🎥 A curated selection of short films from Angola portraying women’s experiences, resilience, and pursuit of agency in challenging contexts

The festival is organized by the Embassies of Angola and Portugal in Warsaw and the Camões Institute, as part of the celebrations of the World Portuguese Language Day.
