Join us on Thursday, June 25, at 4 PM CEST, for our next Drop-in Session!

🗣️Our speaker Prof. Tommy Kaplan (The Hebrew University of Jerusalem) will present:
“A DNA methylation atlas of normal human cell types”

"This talk will discuss how DNA methylation contributes to genome regulation across human cell types, tissues and physiological states. I will present work on whole-genome methylation atlases, cell-type-specific regulatory elements, imprinting and allele-specific methylation, and variation associated with genetics, age and s*x. I will also describe how methylation signatures in circulating cell-free DNA can be used to infer tissue origins and study disease-related cell turnover."

Don’t miss it! 🔥🔥🔥

Another outstanding publication from our colleagues in Italy!
In this study, first-authored by Carmela Lara Dell’aversana and co-authored by Giulia Sgueglia and Lucia Altucci , three isMOCLEP members from Università degli Studi della Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli" and Università LUM report the development of UVI5008 — the first reversible, non-covalent BTK epi-inhibitor for B-cell malignancies.
Published in the Journal of Hematology & Oncology, the study highlights a promising new therapeutic strategy for patients with relapsed or refractory chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

is increasingly becoming part of the global conversation on the future of medicine.

We are proud to share that Tomasz K. Wojdacz , President of the International Society of Clinical and Molecular Epigenetics (isMOCLEP), opened the oncology-focused session at Impact CEE 2026 in Poznań as a keynote speaker.

His keynote lecture, titled:

“DNA Doesn’t Have the Last Word – How Epigenetics Is Changing Our Approach to Health, Aging and Cancer”

highlighted a fundamental shift in how we understand biology and disease. While genetics provides the blueprint, epigenetics reveals how lifestyle, environment, and aging shape gene activity—offering entirely new possibilities for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

Impact CEE is one of the most influential business, technology and innovation events in Central and Eastern Europe. The presence of epigenetics on this stage is a powerful reminder that science is increasingly taking its rightful place at the heart of the most important societal conversations.

This is made possible by individuals who continuously develop future-oriented competencies, recognize emerging opportunities, and have the vision to connect cutting-edge science with real-world challenges. Iwona Szumska-Miękina and the team 💪

At isMOCLEP, we are not slowing down in our mission to bring clinical and molecular epigenetics closer to the broader scientific, medical, business and public communities.

Tomasz concluded his keynote by presenting the strength of our international society and inviting participants to join CLEPIC - CLEPIC-Clinical Epigenetics International Conference - an expanding European platform that connects researchers, clinicians and innovators working to translate epigenetic discoveries into practical applications for medicine.

Congratulations, Tomasz, on this outstanding keynote and for your continued leadership in positioning epigenetics where it belongs: at the forefront of conversations shaping the future of health and medicine.

We are delighted to celebrate another publication by members of the isMOCLEP community.
This time, we are proud to highlight a new paper led by Giulia Sgueglia and co-authored by isMOCLEP members, including our co-founder Lucia Altucci and Carmela Dell’Aversana, representing University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli and Libera Università Mediterranea (LUM).
Their study, published in Cell Death & Disease, reveals how epigenetic regulation of BCLAF1 splicing contributes to acute myeloid leukemia and identifies a promising new therapeutic target.
Congratulations to the entire team on this important contribution to cancer epigenetics.
